If House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) wasnt convinced before, he now knows to a 100 percent degree of certainty that the extreme right wing of the Republican caucus would burn down the U.S. Capitol before they would let him keep the gavel in his hands. They are joined by a nationwide crowd of prominent conservatives, including GOP presidential candidates Donald Trump, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, who cheered Boehners announcement of his resignation from Congress.
All conclusive proof that theres nothing that Boehner can do, even if he was inclined to try, to get back in the far rights good graces.
But there is something Boehner can do to reclaim the power and prestige of his office: take control of the Houses agenda and direct the legislative process as the head of majority party.
He can do that by cobbling together his 200 plus supporters in the GOP caucus members with 40 big-picture Democrats to enact legislation that serves the national interest, not the cuckoo aims of an extremist, ideological minority....

Gibberish from Washington Post affirmative action hire Colbert King .
I love it when liberals give advice to Republicans, seeing as how the liberals care so much about moms, apple pie and pickup trucks..
I think it is funny too but I also think that the Republicans better get their act together and pick someone. It look ridiculous that out of 243 Republicans they can’t pick one to lead. Kinda crazy. Has this ever happened before?

That Washington Post advocated progressive process has already begun with yesterday’s (Friday’s) advancement of the Export-Import Bank renewal legislation.
Why are you laughing?
This is exactly what’s going to happen.
Present day “Democrats” make it easy to understand why the jackass was chosen as their party mascot.
Those that want freedom should surrender to those who want to be slave holders and live off the work of the slaves? I won’t be a very good slave.
We don’t want to burn down the capitol — just tar and feather some RiNOs and commie libs.
“out of 243 Republicans they cant pick one...”
They are not even limited to those 243.
You know who has his big mouth shut during all this? McCain. Usually he can't wait to get to a microphone and call us wacko birds. He sure is a dog that isn't barking. Oh wait, he is up for reelection in 2016.
Why is it that conservatives are described as “the extreme right wing”, “the far right” and “the cuckoo aims of an extremist, ideological minority” but Hillary and Obama are not referred to as extreme leftists, the far left and Obama’s policies as the cuckoo aims of an extremist ideological minority - I mean its not like Obama care, Gay marriage, planned parenthood or the Iran deal have majority support. Oh wait it is the Washington Post aren’t they a satire publication?
Legislation you could get as many as 40 democrats to support is usually not in the nation’s interest.
All those people were duly elected representatives from us. They are in the majority.
They aren't some pee-fanny doo-dads from the five and dime.
They are not mushrooms waiting for more $#!+ to be shoveled over them.
They deserve to be given the chance to work as a team and put Obama the petty tyrant on notice.
But that is what the Post and all the rest of the media and their butt-boys in the GOPe really want.
Mushrooms.
We need true leadership.
They can’t pick a leader. because Republicans don’t have any leaders.
They are all followers, ladder climbers, opportunists, liars and backstabbers.
None of them stand for anything other than their own re-election.
They are all hollow men.
Pretty sure that the “extreme” wing of the party *is* the party. The moderates are the ones who up and left.
Didn’t read the whole thing but it sounds like he thinks Boner is a great guy now that the real Republicans want him out.
On Squawk Box this AM I heard John Harwood call Boner patriot.
Time to turn up the heat on the left.
