Two of the Republican Partys most controversial figures have struck up an unlikely alliance as they both vie for the 2016 Republican Party nomination.
Despite faring fairly well in the polls, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are still considered long shots for the GOP vote. Both candidates have made enemies within their own party. In Cruzs case, he angered many of his Senate colleagues when he pushed a fight over Obamcare that led to a 16-day shutdown of the federal government.
Republicans such as 2016 White House rival Jeb Bush have distanced themselves from Trump, who described illegal immigrants from Mexico as rapists and criminals when he launched his presidential race last month. Trump promised if elected to erect a great wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
In the weeks since, Trumps comments cost him business partners and friends from every direction including ties with Macys, NBC and NASCAR, in the past two weeks alone. All the while, fellow outsider Cruz has yet to jump ship....

The corrupt news media bias is palpable.
Cruz is going to regret this. They can play it again and again when Trump endorses Jeb. Trump is going to pick off every conservative and Jeb- won’t even be challenged.
Did Don Trump kill your dog or steal your best girl? LOL
At this point in '7, everyone said that it would be Hillary V. Rudy come '08, with nobody else to bother about.
Do you even know what the purpose of Free Republic is? It's to promote conserbatism. So RINO hunting is allowed. When a bunch of conservatives go crazy and support a liberal it's an obligation to fight back.
Hillary only lost because her people made a tactical error ignoring the caucuses. She overwhelmingly won the primaries.
I don’t remember Giuliani- being a favorite in 2012. I remember it being Romney. And he won. Trump is going to take the few conservatives out and he’ll endorse Jeb. Besides there is no strong conservative candidate.
Maybe we’ll find out nickcarraway was someone fired on the Apprentice.
Ted Cruz and Donald Trump have the media and the GOP Establishment shared scitless.
So you’re the house “super-patriot” and the rest of us are dupes being fooled by Don Trump? Look at my tagline, Einstein.
He didn’t say 2012; he said ‘08.
Please read my post.
I don't believe that Trump will back jebbie.
Puhlease!
Don’t waste your time with nickcarraway tonight. He’s been on another thread spouting off his inane articulations. I think he’s drinking tonight.
Jindal? Many people think he won’t have a chance.
Jindal? So you’re into the cheap tequila? Where did I say Jindal?
He endorsed Romney. He will endorse Jeb, unless he pulls a trademark Trump switcheroo and endorses Hillary.
He would never endorse Cruz in a million years.
So you’re his next-door neighbor and discuss politics over afternoon croquet?
Okay, who is the strong conservative? Maybe two months ago it was Cruz. But Cruz is making me feel he’s going RINOish. I can’t put him in the strong category anymore. It’s a shame, but it’s just too easy to be stabbed in the back.
