* Ride honoring the nation's veterans attracted only one candidate for the White House: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker
* Perry will also ride with a group of veterans to Ernst's first annual 'Roast and Ride' but he's starting in Perry, Iowa
* Will keep the spotlight on Perry, who is making the journey with Taya Kyle, wife of 'American Sniper,' and Marcus Luttrell, the 'Lone Survivor'
* A half a dozen current and presumed candidates declined their invitation to the event, citing various scheduling conflicts

When Iowa Senator Joni Ernst and co. take off from a Harley-Davidson dealership this morning for a motorcycle ride from Des Moines to Boone honoring the nation's veterans, only one candidate for the White House will join her on a hog - Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry will also ride with a group of veterans to Ernst's first annual 'Roast and Ride' in Boone, but he's starting in Perry, Iowa. Proceeds from his spin-off event will benefit the Puppy Jake Foundation, an organization that donates service dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD.
A spokesperson for Perry's newly launched presidential campaign told Daily Mail Online that the ex-governor 'is passionate about helping our veterans, and thought this would be a good opportunity to help a worthy organization.'(continued)
