Huckabee’s Candidacy Could Mean Showdown with Libertarians
The Blaze ^ | May 4, 2015 | Fred Lucas

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will be entering a very different Republican primary field when he announces his candidacy Tuesday, one that will likely bring up the debate over where libertarians stand in the Republican party, while also facing more competition for social conservative voters than eight years ago.

“Huckabee does have name recognition having been on Fox News all this time,” Tim Hagle, a political science professor at the University of Iowa, told TheBlaze. “At the same time, after he won the caucuses here in 2008, there was a lot of concern that he wasn’t as conservative as some thought.”(continued)

Cruz or lose, and I really mean that with every fiber of my being. I vowed not to vote GOP again after the 2014 slaughter of Conservatism. I believe Cruz is the only true Conservative in the race. If he’s the man in 2016, I’ll vote for him alone. The rest of my votes will be 3rd party. If Cruz don’t make it to the generals, it’s 3rd party all the way.

Huckabee failed to shape himself into a viable candidate. Voters see him as a ‘nice guy.’

If a Huckabee candidacy can piss of the libs (and it obviously does) then OK fine.

Go Mike Huckabee!

You think he is faking being a Christian?

That seems a little excessive.

I don’t know about that, but I think he is faking being conservative. He’s a big government fanatic on a number of different levels, in my view. If I thought he was a Christian fanatic, I might cut him some slack.

Huckabee has one role to fill for the GOP-e: To suck Evangelical votes away from Ted Cruz so that Jeb Bush can win the Southern primaries. That’s all this RINO fraud is in there for.

There is a big difference between disagreeing with his politics and claiming that he is a fake Christian minister.

Another vanity candidate whose sole purpose is to steal votes from real conservatives thereby giving the nomination to Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio.

I can’t read minds. Does he use his Christianity and clergy membership as a political tool? You tell me.

The religious conservatives or social conservatives or evangelical conservatives, whatever term you prefer, has always been a much larger voting bloc within the GOP than libertarians.

You already posted your attack on his Christian faith, you tell me if he is faking being a Christian minister.

It is one thing for you to attack his politics, and another for you to attack his faith as fake and a con game.

Was the character “Elmer Gantry” a Christian?

Oh, sorry, I was instantly bored to sleep there. Not sure what could have caused that. Now where was I? Oh yeah, Huckabee's candidacy... Zzzzzzz...

Just business. He went from nothing, to living in a million dollar house after the 2008 election. Not bad.

Hey! I resemble that remark! And you're crazy; this is NOT a cross behind me!

I answered you, but you don’t like the answer. In many countries, the Elmer Gantry movie is called the Charlatan or subtitled that way.
