Exclusive — Richard Viguerie: Immigration Could Spark ‘Civil War’ Within GOP
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | April 29, 2015 | Sarah Rumpf

Conservative activist Richard Viguerie says divisions over immigration could spark a “civil war” within the Republican Party, leading frustrated conservatives to abandon the party if the 2016 Presidential nominee is too liberal on this crucial issue.

Viguerie began the exclusive interview with Breitbart News by citing one of his main concerns — and pet peeves — regarding immigration. The “root cause of the problem,” he says, is the desperate situations immigrants face in the countries they are leaving.

“Has anyone looked beyond our border?” he asked. “At some point you have to do that, but no one seems to be talking about it…no one is looking at the root causes.” As long as people continue to be oppressed and unable to support their families in these “corrupt, socialist countries,” noted Viguerie, America will continue to face an illegal immigration problem.

For people to leave their home country, leave behind family members and friends, and face the incredibly dangerous journey, or send off their children alone as happened leading to the border surge last summer, is something no one would do except “out of desperation,” said Viguerie. “It doesn’t matter how high you build the fence…we’re going to have this problem.”

Viguerie also said that the current immigration debates focused too much on “amnesty,” at least within the conservative movement. “To me, the most important ‘A’ word is not amnesty; the most important ‘A’ word is assimilation,” he said, because immigrants have not been assimilating into American culture the way previous generations did....

He is as far as I’m concerned. Living in SoCal I’ve seen mass third world immigration up close and personal. I quit voting for treason lobby Republicans years ago.

I really have a hard time understanding why people who think there is no opportunity for inner city youts and lower skilled Black kids are so gung-ho supporting unlimited illegal immigration of literally millions into the country. Why is the obvious connection so hard to see?

If two room temperature IQ guys with an AR-15 and an old Chevy could keep Washington DC in terror for weeks, imagine what hundreds of thousands of sharp veterans and hunters could do....

The only war is between GOP politicians. A wise politician can easily unite voters on this issue.

I’ve been able to find jobs for thousands of people and most of them were no Steven Hawking or Albert Einstein. If you really want work it’s out there.

If immigration was going to start a “war” in the GOP, we would have seen it 10 years ago.

“Is he right?”

Obviously not.

What’s going on with all these fools? Bring every turd world person here and it’ll destroy not only what is left of the Republican Party, but our nation as well. We won’t be any good at all to anybody once we fall too.

Oh yeah, silly me, that’s the plan.

In a very important way, he is not correct. He asks that we look beyond our borders and recognize the desperation. The conditions beyond our borders have always sucked. That won't change any time soon.

He is right about not being able to stop them with just border enforcement. The only way to stop them is to take away the ability to work. If the government would get serious about workplace enforcement this wave could be stopped. One only needs to make the correlation between the Dreamer policies of the Obama admin. and the wave of kids at the border to see that policy can affect immigration.

Why is the obvious connection so hard to see? Because, if you're a Democrat, black or otherwise, you value the potential votes of illegal immigrants more than the well-being of inner city youts.

It' not about "good works". It's about power!

No, he’s not right.

The reason they are not assimilating is because they don’t have to. They know that with all the Democrats and the RINO and establishment Republicans allowing an open border and no enforcement, the Hispanics will soon be the majority, and they will be demanding that everyone else assimilate into THEIR culture and language.

Like the vacillation on slavery that killed the Whig Party, the Republican elites’ vacillation on amnesty will mean that if they have a pro-amnesty candidate in 2016, there will be no party in 2017.

If they are refugees than they could be provided temporary housing in refugee facilities until they are able apply for and find new homes in cooperating host countries.

Richard Viguerie has sunk into the morass of GOPe idiotcy. So we need to “recognize” that cesspools such as Honduras and Somalia have problems? And the solution is to give up fighting the massive waves of illegal (and “legal”, but ill-advised, immigration of “refugees” from the cesspools) and just accept that situation? The only thing that will accomplish is to move America further along into becoming just another cesspool. Somalian “refugees” did not leave their hell-on-earth behind, they’ve brought it with them.

So-Cal is a third world nation all unto itself.

Many years ago, a man, whose family ran the local Department store for many generations, hung himself in the second story office picture window because of what the immigrant Chinese were doing to the downtown area of an upper middle-middle class town.

Not too many miles away George S Patton would be rolling over in his grave if he could see what has become of his home town!

I left, but not too far away as to be close enough to return when needed.

“So-Cal is a third world nation all unto itself.”

You’ve got that right. And it happened through an unholy alliance of hate America Democrats and their quisling Republican collaborators.

“Not too many miles away George S Patton would be rolling over in his grave if he could see what has become of his home town”

Very true.

Is he right?

He should be right - I am losing confidence that we will allow ourselves to reach the "snapping point" and actually ignite such a civil war. We have a history of taking the easier, "more convenient" approach which is to roll over and then bitch about how it is going.
