Feb 4, 2015 1:00 AM NH1 Pulse Poll: Walker surges to top with Romney's exit; Bush second By: Paul SteinhauserNH1 Political Director - NH1.com CONCORD - New Hampshire may have a new front-runner in the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

The first survey conducted in the first-in-the-nation primary state since Mitt Romney's exit from the 2016 White House race indicates that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leads the pack of potential Republican presidential contenders.

According to an NH1 Pulse Poll released Wednesday, Walker has the backing of 21.2% of those who say they're likely to vote in next year's GOP presidential primary. The automated survey indicates Jeb Bush in second place, with 14.4% saying they'd support the former two-term Florida governor if the Feb. 9, 2016 primary was held now.

The poll was conducted Monday and Tuesday, after Romney's announcement last Friday that he wouldn't make a third run for the White House. The 2012 GOP nominee and former Massachusetts governor, who owns a vacation home along Lake Winnipesaukee, is very well known in New Hampshire and would have been the front-runner in the primary if he had launched a campaign.

A NH1 Pulse Poll conducted two weeks ago put Romney at 29% support, far ahead of the rest of the field. Bush was at 11% and Walker was at 8% in that same survey.

A governor, one who has prevailed 3 hard fought elections in Wisconsin (not exactly Texas type state).

Best part is, the liberal media can't find anything to criticize walker. Walker has the clean cut all American look. There are no questions about his birth certificate, or citizenship of his parents. He will be difficult to caricature by the media.

Facts do matter!

An MSNBC host introduces Walker as supporting a pathway to citizenship in this interview.

Walker’s response

“One correction on immigration. I’m talking about fixing the legal immigration system, not going beyond that”

NH (Red Hampshire) likes to think of itself as a trend-setter, but it usually just ratifies the “conventional wisdom” or the latest set of polls.

I do not hate the Bushes, but I had enough Bushes for one life time. No more for at least 16 years.

I need a clear policy statement on illegal alien deportation and border seal.

It is indeed very early. This is just fodder for political junkies. But I would rather have the candidate leading, and getting in the news than near the bottom of pack.

I prefer Ted Cruz.

But I’ll take Scott Walker.

No Bush

No Huckabee

No Paul

Well, get use to this maddening aspect of Gov. Walker's personality: his inability to stand behind simple decisions and making boneheaded, tone-deaf mistakes.

Check out that youtube link I posted above.
We should hear a lot more about his immigration positions in future and in debates. What I understand is that he wants to fix the system. Because as it exists, the system is beyond broken and out of control.

In countries like Singapore, they know exactly which foreigners are in the country, where they work and where they live. There are no measurable illegals in Singapore. $0% work force is foreigners on 2 year work visa.

In USA we do not know who is here, where they work or where they live. It is pathetic, and needs to be fixed ASAP. And it has to be a practical solution. Not some hare brained idea like round up 15 million illegals and deport them. Heck we can’t even find the Islamic extremist cells in the country. and that is only a few thousand people. FBI has heck of a time finding the 10 most wanted.

You linked to a leftist newspaper that supports the unions over Walker. Do you wonder if they may have ever so slightly slanted “the news” against Walker.

Everything you read in the newspaper is true, isn’t it?

“No Huckabee”

On Satellite Radio today, I heard an advertisement from Huckabee for some kind of food supplement\diet he claims helped him treat his type 2 diabetes, and lose 100 lbs.

Not a thing a serious candidate for potus has done in the past.

The automated survey indicates Jeb Bush in second place, with 14.4% saying they'd support the former two-term Florida governor if the Feb. 9, 2016 primary was held now.

To my mind, this result pretty much insures that J.E.B. cannot win New Hampshire. And, if he can't win New Hampshire, he can't win the nomination.

With his tremendous built-in name recognition advantage, complete with an existing record, Bush cannot "come from behind". How does he go about changing people's minds about him and his policies?

And, if any primary state should be pre-disposed toward his candidacy, it would be New Hampshire.

The Bush candidacy is dead, over and done with, stillborn.

Whom will the GOP-e put forth next?

95% of newspapers in the country are leftists.

What do you want? Read only 5%?

GOPe has Jeb & Christy. I hope Neither one wins the primaries. Jeb Bush’s best chance is NH. If he can’t win there it looks dark.

Huckabee went through weight loss surgery just like Christie. The supplement is a fake. Huckabee is no better than a con artist.
