Texas Republicans issued a one-sentence rebuttal to Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) for his comments during a Monday Rules Committee meeting.
In debating with Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) over the latest Obamacare repeal bill, Hastings referenced his colleague’s home state, “which I think is a crazy state to begin with, and I mean it just as I said it.”
As the two fought over speaking time, Burgess complained that Hastings “made a very defamatory comment about my state, and I will not stand here and listen to it.”
Hastings has not apologized. House Texas Republicans issued a joint statement today: “Don’t mess with Texas.”
The lawmakers also called on Hastings to apologize to the citizens of Texas.
Yes, while Florida may not be a crazy state, it has crazies in a district who repeatedly voted Crazy Alcee Hastings into the House of Representatives. But then being a crazy crooked racist does not disqualify one from being elected to the House of Representatives.
Hastings was impeached and removed as a federal judge.

I’ll admit this much... that smelly sack of monkey poop that calls itself Alcee Hastings would certainly know a thing or two about crazy.
He doesn’t need to apologize to me. To paraphrase Johnny Cougar, his opinion means nothing.
I guess Texas has never heard of “from you, that’s a compliment”.
Do we demand apologies from prison inmates for things they say?

Alyce Hastings was convicted of being BRIBED as a Federal Judge. He was impeached by the Senate and removed from office. He is the lowest scum in the cess pool. How can people put that reprobate in office?

Pretty weak tea, which could/should have been followed with “... coming from a known crook like him.” Hastings is an easy target, but you have to be willing to endure that obvious charge that will come with criticizing him. GOP doesn’t know how to fight.

Liberals hate Texas because Obozo has thrown every bad idea he’s got at his staggering “recovery” while Texas prospers by doing the opposite.
Hastings was acquitted of federal criminal charges due to the failure of an essential co-conspirator witness to testify. In removing Hastings, a Democratic Senate nevertheless found that he had engaged in the bribery conspiracy and repeatedly lied under oath at his criminal trial and forged letters in order to win acquittal.
