Why Fox News dropped Sarah Palin [Palin dropped Fox]
The Christain Science Monitor ^ | January 26, 2013 | Brad Knickerbocker

When the history of US politics in the early 21st century is written, two figures will stand out: Barack Obama and Sarah Palin.

The election of Mr. Obama to the highest elective office – the first African-American to win the presidency – did not necessarily signal a new era of post-racial politics. But coming just a generation after federal troops in the South (and a federal judge in Boston) were necessary to desegregate public schools, it was a huge milestone.

Sarah Palin was not the first woman to win a major political party’s vice presidential nomination; that was US Rep. Geraldine Ferraro, Walter Mondale’s running mate way back in 1984.

But the presence of the former Alaska governor on the GOP ticket headed by Sen. John McCain in 2008 invigorated the party – at the time, at least. And although they lost to Obama and Joe Biden, it wasn’t the blowout that Mondale and Ferraro suffered against Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

Ferraro went on to relative political obscurity, twice losing Democratic Party primaries for the US Senate. Ms. Palin, on the other hand, was just getting started when the returns for the 2008 presidential race were being counted.

Over the next few years, she became a political force of nature – stirring a tea party base that thronged to her appearances, scaring GOP incumbents deemed too willing to find common ground with Democrats, and building a very lucrative business that included (for one season, at least) her own “reality” TV show while launching one of her five children – daughter Bristol – on her own entertainment career.

Meanwhile, as with some other conservative ex-elected officials like Mike Huckabee, Palin was given a sinecure of sorts as a commentator for Fox News...

I’m to the point I just don’t care what ANYONE has to say about Sarah Palin, I’d vote for her in a “New York Minute!”

they doubled Juan Williams contract,

I didn't know that - so thanks for writing to them. I don't watch Fox unless Sarah or another TRUE American is on that cannot be bought.

Sarah will be just fine with whatever

Absolutely, she knows her Source and He leads her. She knows more now, then these flunkies will know/understand when it does happen.

"When I see a former governor say that the president is ‘shuckin’ and jivin’ — that’s a racial-era slave term,” Mr. Powell said, referring to Palin’s characterization of Obama’s response to the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the US ambassador and three other Americans."

How in the heck am I suppose to know that is some racial term from a time I never lived in.  It's a perjorative phrase that has left slavery in the past.

Besides, I'm so color blind I can't even get a pilots license.

You on the other hand think about color all day long and use it for personal leverage.

Which makes you a backhanded racist, who just has never felt comfortable in his own skin and maintains a Title VII attitude, insisting on a handout for your mere existence on the one hand and affirmative action, which implies you are less than capable, for moving ahead in life to positions you rightly shouldn't have.

You are morally bankrupt, intellectually fallow and a spiritual hazard to be avoided.

I can totally understand why Sarah wouldnt want to be on Fox anymore..first of all, she was hardly on..maybe what, once a month and even when she was on it was only for about 5-10 minutes at the most..why would she want to be shackled to another long term contract with Fox(I doubt it had anything to do with the money I think it had more to do with the direction Ailes is going with the network)..if she had her own show on the channel MAYBE it would have been worth staying but only to be on once a month and still be shackled to do whatever Fox News says I wouldnt have stayed either. Ailes wanted to mold Sarah into someone she was not, a RINO clone of Romney and she wanted no part of it..she made the right choice

Sarah should run for the Senate. She can really help us there.

I doubt it had anything to do with the money
$1 million a year isn't chicken feed, you know. Offering her a new contract for a fraction of that is like telling her to get lost.

Also he’s not particularly bitter or rude, just stupid.

DELIBERATELY BIAS is more like it. FOX is weak, very weak-lukewarm.

Ailes advice to her was insane, and one of the first clues that he never had her best interests at heart. The media’s effort to deliberately cast blame onto her for that Tucson mass-murder, basically dumping bloody bodies right on her doorstep, was about the most evil and incendiary depths I’ve ever seen the media sink to. The constant juxtaposition of imagery... video-footage of Giffords, the blood on the pavement, the photo of the little girl murdered, and then file-footage of Palin at a tea-party... all in a continuing loop for DAYS. Drumming an inflammatory connection into the public sphere by repetition akin to Soviet-era propagand films. Palin and her family reportedly received over 100,000 death-threats. The media was practically soliticing her murder.

And Ailes advice to Palin was basically “keep quiet; it’ll blow over; no biggie.” Add to that, virtually no one in the GOP even stood up and spoke in her defense. She HAD to. And she called it like it was: all-out blood libel. Never really trusted anything about Ailes ever since.

Sarah’s instincts are good. She’ll be back in force when it’s right for her.

She’s no longer a “hot celebrity” so FOX’s offer sounds reasonable.
She’s too normal and common-sensible to be a celebrity anyway.

I’d like to see her tour local political orgs across the nation with some organizing professionals- a “counter Acorn”.

That means he is unteachable and only useful for media purposes being a parrot.

FOX has always had a bias for personable people.

So they think conservatives can't see through BS coming out of a personable mouth? 'FEELINGS by Fox' specially created for those who can be fooled.
