Five women who could run for president in 2016
Constitution Daily ^ | November 16, 2012 | Staff

America has never had a female major party candidate nominated to be president, but the odds are growing that it will happen in 2016.

The current favorite for the 2016 Democratic nomination is a woman, and there are at least four other potential candidates in both parties.

It isn’t that female candidates haven’t tried. Hillary Clinton came the closest when she lost the Democratic nomination in 2008 to Barack Obama.

Here’s a look at the top prospects for 2016, starting with the Democratic frontrunner.

Hillary Clinton

The current Secretary of State is a huge favorite for the 2016 nomination for her party.

Clinton is expected to step down from her cabinet position next year. She would be 68 years old at the time of the 2016 convention.

The big question is if she will pursue the nomination.

Clinton has said in the past that she wasn’t interested in a second presidential run. But political watchers believe it will be Clinton’s decision in about two years to pursue the nomination.

One sign that experts point to was the tireless work of her husband, President Bill Clinton, in the final weeks of the Obama campaign.

The Clintons have collected an impressive amount of political IOUs, so it’s unclear if anyone in the Democratic Party would contest her nomination if she ran...

I don’t see any of those winning their party’s nomination. Not even Hillary. She’ll be far too old, fat, and saggy by then. She’ll look four years more horrible than she looks now. Eek. Besides, the dims will have come up with some other, further-left nitwit to run by then.

What do all dictators do? They rig elections. Do you think this recently passed one was fairly done? Do you think 2014 and 2016 will be fair? Do you really have faith in about half the country, confident they’ll grow up in two and four years? I sure as hell don’t, and I live in NYC. Yeah, I don’t have exposure to the south like a lot of FReepers do, but do you really think Obama will let Congress, the Senate and the Supreme Court do their constitutionally delegated jobs? He’s already growing his branch to overstep Congress, what makes you think he’ll have a change of heart and stop?

I have family members who are giddy over the thought of Moochelle Obama becoming the first female president.

Yes, my family members are certifiably insane.

The GOP is building a good team for the future.

We should have many good choices to choose from.

“Condoleezza Rice”

I have always believed the plan was that after GWB won his second term, Dick Cheney would become ‘ill’ and Ms Rice would become VP. Good, bad, or indifferent, it would have set up a 2008 nightmare scenario for the democraps, running against a woman and a black.

Unfortunately, when she went up for Sec of State, the democraps in the Senate really played rough, and she lost all further taste for politics. Witness her relative absence during the last six years.

I believe she is done with politics forever.
