Some people even express grudging 'admiration' for Meadow for her liberal honesty. I am still scratching my head over that.

My local abc anchor (Rick Williams) even said 'government employer added 171k jobs, but unempolyment rate still up for 7.9%). I watched and rewinded three times just to make sure I got that right.

Will Right accept reality of Friday Jobs Report?

Yes. I accept that job growth is still anemic (171k? are you kidding me?), and Americans are still horribly underemployed.

Maddow’s socialism is showing...the increase in unemployment would mean that our steady decline would be good news. She’s a socialist. You have to look at the world WE live in bass ackwards for her to make sense.

Nope not upset at all, it shows that businesses are just as confident that Romney is going to win as I am.

Businesses have been sitting on cash and many have wanted to hire, but haven’t because they don’t know what nonsensical thing this administration was going to throw their way, so they have sat and done nothing.

Now that it is pretty obvious Obama is going down in flames, they are finally willing to spend. I work in IT and even when not looking for work am routinely contacted by recruiters looking for folks with my skills regardless of the economy... There has been a very very very marked uptick in activity in the last 3-4 weeks. Volume of Calls I have gotten and number of associates in the field who have also been recruited or accepted new positions is much much higher in last month than anytime in the last several years.

Currently I am getting 3-4 contacts a day, where for most of the last 2 years, I would average about 3 a week, and no I have not been actively looking.

Purse strings are finally opening now that its pretty clear which way the wind is blowing.. I expect first quarter next year to be insanely improved once Romney is officially the President...

No it won’t be back to pre collapse levels, but you are going to see a serious uptick.

The left, including Madcow, must still be drinking some pretty strong kool-aid if they believe the economy shows any signs of improvement.

Look at all of the real stats, Madcow, not just the latest round of fraudulent numbers.

And if you want to be considered honest, Madcow, why not mention the fact that Obammie the Commie had to say that the October job numbers are the best in the past three years — which are HIS years — and that he couldn’t go back to before that, BECAUSE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE WAS BETTER UNDER BUSH.

Remember that Obammie the Commie won in part by demonizing Bush and blaming him for the horror of the economy, which is far worse now under 4 years of unabated socialism.

I didn’t think so.

Jobs are mostly seasonal hiring. They’ll fall off last two weeks of December and then plummet.

This is from October of 2011:

With 14 million Americans out of work, the economy needs to add about 250,000 jobs a month to substantially bring down the unemployment rate, according to economists.

How many does it have to add for 23 million? And why the heck is Rachel not asking why there are 9 million more unemployed people than there were at this time last year?

Another report came out recently that said that unemployment is higher now than when Obama was selected.
So Madcow is suffering bovine spongiform encephalopathy...

The only thing worse than a bull dyke is a nasty one like Maddow.

Come to think of it every one I ever met was nasty.
Unhappy because God mixed up their plumbing I guess.
They take it out on the world at large.

What good economic news? Even with the arcane and mysterious computations used to arrive at the “official” unemployment rate, it is still SEVEN POINT NINE PERCENT!

And that in itself is a total refutation of the ratio of persons of working age (16-64) between those who collect a paycheck for services rendered, and those who are NOT gainfully employed outside the home.

The labor participation rate is far more meaningful than the “unemployment” rate, as there are fudge factors that keep modifying the actual numbers of persons working at any one time. There is, of course, a steady underflow of employees changing from one job position to another, either within their own organization, or with a different organization. There are the self-employed, both the legitimate type that keeps books and pays taxes on the proceeds from that self-employment, or the shadow economy, where the transactions are all in cash or barter for goods and services, and no formal report or accounting of the exchanges is ever kept. There are those who turn to non-employment sources of funding to cover their daily living expenses, with assistance coming from the charity of family or strangers, collection of government dole at various levels, or even outright criminal enterprises using various degrees of extortion from those unfortunate enough to find themselves at the mercy of such predators.

And the City of New York goes ahead with its marathon run even though vital resources have to be diverted from the recovery effort to support this frivolity, which is totally unbecoming, considering the circumstances.

I’ll be happy about the jobs report when I can get an actual full-time job instead of exhausting my aging self by kluging together various low-paid part-time jobs.
