Romney Jumps to Lead in Another Poll

Whoa. Public Policy Polling sometimes acts like Public Policy Trolling. Tom Jensen’s outfit will publish polls that are not just outliers from other polls, they can be outliers from our realm in the time-space continuum. They had Obama leading Rick Perry in Texas, at the height of Perry’s presidential buzz last year, for instance, and PPP’s polls tend to lean more left than other polls.

I bring all of that up, to drop this hammer on you.

Mitt Romney has overtaken President Obama in a Public Policy Polling survey released on Tuesday.

Romney won 49 percent support from likely voters in the poll, compared to 47 percent for Obama.

It’s the first time all year Romney has led in the poll, which was conducted on behalf of the liberal Daily Kos website and the Service Employees International Union. Obama led 49-45 percent in the group’s previous poll, conducted before last week’s debate.

Romney’s biggest gain is among women, where he has closed the gap to just six points. He has always led with men, so now a fair media would start talking about Obama’s gender gap — the fact that he’s consistently losing men. Republicans also expanded the enthusiasm gap over Democrats.

Kos isn’t happy, which makes me smile. It is good in life to crush your enemies, see them driven them before you, and to hear the lamentation of their pundits.

But my admonition still applies. Now is no time to get cocky. Obama is swooning. Do not let up.

I would love to see some pollsters take this poll: Obama VS Bigbird.
I would put my money on Big Bird. 50 to 45. 5% for Tickle me Elmo.

Rush Limbaugh, the Drudge Report and the New Media needs to pick up on this...
Yes, this is for real, not Satire
The Obama campaign played this song at one of their campaign stops into a rap song ( How to get to Sesame Street ) .... yes, this is for real, not a joke.
The Romney campaign needs to jump on this very quickly and have a TV ad coming out saying " While others think that America's future, jobs, and security is playing Kindergarten, we take the job of President very seriously.... it's time to let the adults run this country while others play in the sand. "
