Can Sarah Palin Win the Gold With Republican Endorsements?

Analysis:

Thus far, the former VP candidate Sarah Palin has endorsed four Senate candidates in competitive Republican primaries. All four have won.

Tomorrow, she could extend that winning streak to five if Republican former Missouri state Treasurer Sarah Steelman, for whom Palin stumped this weekend, wins a three-way GOP primary contest.

Like any good athlete, Palin has an impeccable sense of timing. And, she's keenly aware of the environment in which she's competing.

Despite the fact that the Tea Party failed to field a credible presidential candidate, the mood of the GOP primary electorate remains as anti-establishment as ever.

Palin is clearly aware of this. She has sided with the non-establishment candidate in each of the four contests. Even her endorsement of long-term incumbent Sen. Orrin Hatch is not the outlier that it looks like at first glance. Having learned the lessons of 2010, Hatch's campaign worked hard to woo Tea Party types. He re-packaged himself as an uncompromising partisan fighter. He may not have been a Tea Party candidate back in 2008, but he sure acted like one in 2012.

--snip--

"The important thing is she's had a tremendous impact with no money. She doesn't lead with her chin. It's not about her writing checks, it's about her presence and her commitment," said Steve Bannon, a Palin friend and the Executive Chairman of the conservative website Breitbart News.

Bannon said it is no accident that Palin is endorsing more candidates in Senate races.

"She's focused on the senate. That's where she's putting her effort…Obviously they are winning, but I don't think it's just about winning, it's about sending a message. Even if the streak comes to an end she's backing anti establishment people," he said.

The Steelman endorsement, however, is her riskiest yet...

Bannon said it is no accident that Palin is endorsing more candidates in Senate races.

There were two big senate failures in 2010, Nevada and Maryland.

Not sure if Palin endorsed the losers.

“There were two big senate failures in 2010, Nevada and Maryland.”

Yes there were. IMHO you can lay those at the feet of the GOPe.

I think the question they meant to ask is whether she can keep the streak going.

Oh yes. GOP-E sabotaged those from the git go. ROVE mainly who is the epitomy. Made Dubya go out of office with his tail between his legs. Laura can’t stand the turd blossom. I really doubt if Dubya can either.

She didn't work in the Nevada race, and her pick in Maryland was instantly assaulted by both the GOPe and the Left. Viciously, relentlessly assaulted with character smears and endless Pee-stream Misledia propaganda.

It would have taken Palin herself to prevail against that boiling cauldron of hatred. And, as luck would have it, there's only one Sarah Palin.

;-\

Never mind my “girl crush” on Sarah....she wears THE hottest shoes eva!!

Every time I see her shoes I think of the song “These Boots Are Made For Walking”.

“One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you”.

That’s my girl....keep a walkin!!! =)

I’ve seen or heard more than one instance in the MSM (or should I say LSM), where they attributed the loss of Angle in NV as a Palin loss, but the fact is, she didn’t endorse Angle(or anyone else in NV). Not sure About MD, but don’t recall her endorsing there either.

Senate candidate Sarah Steelman and former Governor Sarah Palin actually made sandwiches for every attendee at a recent rally in rural Missouri. Happy now? LOL

I don't think Steelman is going to win today. In fact, she could come in third in the three-way race. All three could end up in the 25-35% range. We'll see.

I voted today for Todd Akin.

Given the absolutely ridiculous and pointless “hook” of mixing Olympics imagery into this piece, I’m guessing the authors are 9 and 7 years old.
