Michigan has become a clear swing state in the 2012 election, a new poll released Thursday by Michigan polling agency Foster McCollum White and Associates found.
And a Democratic pollster warned that if President Barack Obama doesn't change his message and tone in the campaign, he will be in severe danger of losing the state and the election to Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
The poll shows that Obama's lead in Michigan much like in fellow Midwestern state Wisconsin has all but evaporated. He has just more than a point lead in the state, a similar finding to an EPIC-MRA poll last week that gave Romney a slim lead. Here's a nice pie-chart breakdown (Obama actually rounds up to 47 percent):

Why the slip in Michigan, a state where one recent poll by Public Policy Polling found Obama leading by an astounding 14 points? Eric Foster, president of Foster McCollum and White, told Business Insider that it's because of Obama's tone and message in the campaign thus far....

ssshhhhh...its looking like it may be a landslide
well then let him bitch and moan like a girl then.
Five, maybe six counties out of 83 decide the election for Michigan. The uaw, chrysler, and government motors employees are not going to forget the bone that obama threw to them with the bailouts, and will vote accordingly.
If Obama is in trouble in Michigan, then he’s got to be in trouble in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Virginia, and Florida, among others.
Romney won’t carry all of these battleground states. But, he’s going to get a bunch of states which Obama carried last time.
Is there any state carried by McCain last time in which Obama has a real chance????
We not going to see Obama strutting out into Grant Park at a few minutes past 11, Eastern Time, this election night, just after polls closed in California and deliver that state to Obama. Calif. will still go for Obama easily, but, we could be in for a long election night this year.
Millions have left the state, the old Democrat breeding grounds are ghost towns.
That's already been documented.
...we could be in for a long election night this year.
Much longer than election night of 2000.
I think this article is turning out to be more and more prescient.

Race will be called by 10pm. Romney will win by a minimum of 7%
Michiganders aren’t going to put up with his whiny-butt nonsense. Our state has been hit very hard on ALL levels—housing, unemployment, lack of jobs to find once unemployed, our fruit was frozen out early this past spring, the rain is holding up, and dang it, Mr. Vacation has NOTHING to complain about.
He’s a spoiled, never-worked-a-day-in-his-life, liar who pretends to understand the middle class and pretends even more to understand the American black experience while pandering to rich Hollywood liberals.
No, his style isn’t going to play well here.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet, well said.
I’m sorry but after all the sh*t Obama has been pulling recently what makes you think there will even be an election??
Thanks for the ping!
It ALL comes down to election day 2012!
Indeed.
They’re still around, and all of the people leaving the state just concentrates the dem’s hold. I left Michigan after living there for 40 years. I had finally realized things were never going to change there in my lifetime, or that of my kids.
It’s a home state for Romney indeed.
And you’re right I don’t hear that alot in articles about the race in Michigan.
