"Sarah Palin is conservative, more so than any potential candidate since Reagan."
Sarah was was more of a McCain style opponent of corruption in her reign as Governor of Alaska than an ideological champion of limited government. That was also the case when you look at her in the 2008 campaign as McCain's running mate. A lot of her statements now do not match up with her earlier positions. One can argue that she is learning, or that she is repositioning herself as a result of the growing popularity of the Tea Party movement. Either way, I would prefer someone who has an ideologically consistent record to someone whose opposition to big government has coincided with the sudden popularity of that position among a growing segment of the population.

No. They are not. A liberal fronted by the Republican party removes the voice of conservatism from American politics. That is several orders of magnitude worse.

there is definitely a crowd of insiders who are determined to stop Palin. There also seems to be another crowd who are equally determined to stop MITTSTER. And NH is the place to do it.
