Rove's Palin criticism provokes backlash from supporters who label him Biden of the Right

Sarah Palin and her allies have not taken kindly to comments by Karl Rove this week that the former Alaska governor is not ready to be president, firing back at the former Bush White House political adviser in a fight that illustrates the simmering tensions within the Republican Party.

Palin herself made a crack about Rove Thursday but refrained from making pointed comments. But nationally syndicated conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin went after Rove with passion.

“I have to say, nice guy aside, this guy needs to get off the stage. He is yesterday’s operative,” Levin said. “There is a movement going on in this country, a movement that is trying to do serious things and substantive things, and this guy’s just running around, gassing off at the mouth, attacking some of the most conservative candidates in the field.”

“You know, Karl Rove is sort of becoming our Joe Biden, how many times he puts his foot in his mouth,” said Levin, an attorney who was chief of staff to the attorney general in the Reagan administration. “I think he’s got a Joe Biden problem.”

“There is a conservative uprising taking place, a conservative rebellion against Washington, against big government. And I don’t happen to think Rove and those guys are exactly the best face to put on it, because they had nothing to do with it. And in part – you want to know the truth? – in part it’s a reaction to them,” Levin said (see below for a transcript of Levin’s remarks).

The comments by Rove came during an interview with the London Telegraph that was published online late Wednesday, in response to questions about whether Palin would be a good Republican candidate for president...

Rove was SO wrong on Christine O’Donnell. Coulter (who I stopped following when she bashed birthers -screw her0 said O’Donnell was very good in her debates and Coons was horrible.

Rove is a RINO POS. Does the guy hate attractive women?

Rove represents the status quo, and has positioned himself as the Republican advocate for that status quo.

He is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

All the insults we throw at him boil down to one thing for me. He represents what i oppose. All he cares about is the wing of the republican party that opposes conservatism, and IS the main problem.

Its going to be very interesting to see who the GOP puts forth as ‘their’ candidate and if Palin runs against them.

What happens if the GOP does shove Romney down our throats and Palin runs against him?

hell we would all be better off with Sarah as our president these last two years rather than Barack Obama. Given what we’ve seen out of a completely empty suit, I’d say just about anyone that has run anything would qualify for President these days and do a much better job than this ideological hack we’ve had in there since 2008.

We’ll see Rove’s plan materialize. I think the last thing we want is to have Rove be the new face of the GOP. I don’t hate the man I just think he was a part of what was wrong with the Bush team.

What I want to know is if the GOP selects Romney, how do we get Palin into the Presidential debates? If she polls higher is it possible the GOP would drop Romney in favor of Palin?

Conservatives have been fighting a two front war...and winning thank you. Wed. we can start on rebuilding the GOP. This may prove to be more difficult than defeating the RATS.

But we will win this too. Bet on it.
Palin has proved her self over and over but she represents change from the old Republican guard and this they cannot let happen.

RCP has a page on Republican Senators who are kings of pork/earmarks. Thats fine but we need to find out the names of the RINO staffers/consultants that are behind Rove and public RINOS.

Wed. morning I expect Rove, McConnel, Cornyn, Steele and others to try and take credit for the wins but the real credit goes to DeMint, Palin and the conservative base.

Rove is so “Cocktail Party” it’s pathetic.

He’s a guard dog valiantly defending his “political class” owners who are struggling to maintain relevance in the face of an obvious revolt from the unwashed peasantry.

You’re calling Mitt Romney a leftist lying communist bastard????

If you were talking about zero then I’d agree...but even though I disagree with MR on some things I sure don’t put him in the same category as Obama.

Give it a rest, Rove — you are merely alienating every conservative as you provide ammo to the left.

Rove was never “ready” with “gravitas” to be a top policy adviser in the Bush WH, and that was a key mistake by GW.

Rove is a politico, a campaign guy, maybe sometimes good at technical campaign issues, but never should be trying to call the shots for policy — especially where conservative principles are involved!
