Banker and southern Nevada resident John Guedry has announced he intends to run as a Republican against Democratic first-term Rep. Dina Titus. Guedry submitted paperwork Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission saying he intends to enter the race for next year's election.
Guedry has been an executive at City National Bank for two years. He says the bank has fared well during the recession, providing over $3.5 billion in residential mortgages with only one home foreclosure. He says the bank refused to engage in risky investments.
Guedry says he was approached to run for office by Nevadans fed up with reckless spending in Washington.

John Guedry is not widely known, but Nevada Republicans who have met him have a very favorable impression. Also, his banking experience is community, not investment, and the fact that the bank he runs has experienced only one home foreclosure gives him claim to expertise on a very hot issue.
Sounds like a good guy. Hopefully more of these guys and gals will keep coming out of the woodwork. To win as a GOP candidate you gotta have $$. Sounds like he knows how to run a loan portfolio. Hopefully he and a GOP congress will shut down Fannie & Freddie aka ACORN jobs programs.
Dem headline: "Racist Right-Wing Banker to Run Against Titus."
LOL. You know that editorials will pop up implying that very thing.
