A united and free world is something of an oxymoron. That said, we live in the real world, which happens to be a very dangerous place; and happy thoughts and even good deeds will get you nowhere. The US has given more to the world in the way of wealth, expertise, aid, technology, whatever, than any other nation in the world. Ever. Are we liked? No. We’re hated because the rest of the world thinks we don’t deserve what we have, our standard of living, our freedom. They want to see the US defeated, humiliated, and this mindset is not likely to change any time soon.
