Lesbian outs South Carolina lawmakers

South Carolina — An openly lesbian politician who came close to unseating incumbent South Carolina Representative Henry Brown in November has outed three Republican lawmakers.

Linda Ketner's narrow loss to Brown heartened South Carolina gay politicos who never expected such a tight race. A longtime businesswoman and community activist, Kerner's clear leadership attracted strong support from a community mostly cool to gay rights. In 2006, a large majority (78%) of South Carolina voters approved a gay marriage ban in their state constitution.

Speaking to Howie Klein at Fire Dog Lake, a progressive political blog, Ketner outed three prominent South Carolina Republican lawmakers as gay.

Per capita, there are probably more gays in Charleston than there are in San Fracisco.

Same here - attack site.

This is the first that I heard about a close race between Ketner and Brown. There was no contest at all between them that I remember. The ads that were on tv made her come across as wooden and phoney, even the ones with her dad. He looked like he had a gun to his head.

And here I thought it was a big no-no in gay circles to "out" someone who didn't want to be outed.

Oh wait--it's okay if you're a liberal. Ends justifying the means and all that.

Imagine the outrage if someone straight had outted the lesbian during the campaign..... but outting someone (if true) by the lesbian isn’t a bad thing. Kind of like rappers using the n-word I guess...

I like how the liberals use the word gay as if it is horrible when outting a republican, but it is wonderful if describing the unfettered love of a liberal... lol

If it’s news at all. While many probably feel as I do about Lindsay Graham, this was a spiteful, hateful, yet multi-pronged attack.

1. It is intended to embarrass the officials named, obviously.

2. It is meant to justify her own behavior to the “massess” by pointing to other elected officials, especially those from the opposing party.

3. It is meant to discredit any social conservatism, just think about the below quote: “Bauer calls himself “South Carolina’s hardest working elected official” and is considered a social conservative, appearing often with anti-gay former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. He assumed office in 2003 after serving in both chambers of the Legislature”

4. It is implying that those who are “anti-gay” are usually in the closet, but struggle blah blah blah.

As with all good lies, I’m sure there is enough truth mixed in to make it believable (i.e. Graham’s sexuality).

Leadership? She outed other politicians because she lost an election? Never thought that was an indication of leadeship ability......

Interesting “cute” responses to this “news”. If true, so be it, Graham et al will pay the price to their constituency. But, if this is bald face lies, smears, gutter politics of destruction, then the gays have declared war on the right of center and like the jihadist determined pre-911, they have determined to be at war with us but not us at war with them.

If these are indeed false smears then we must now go to “political” war with them and destroy the homo-lobby in particular. They don’t fear the right-—they don’t take us seriously anymore........this is political war......

Exactly! And they mean business. There is an all out assault on America and traditional values. The only thing standing between complete capitulation is us rag-tag bunch of scattered patriots. But we can come up with snappy come-backs and smarty retorts but no viable counterattack.

I for one think it's time to have a pro-American blog conference of some sort and figure a way for proprietors of the various conservative blogs put aside any differences and lead an coordinated effort to unite and fight the left (especially, Especially their most nefarious cohorts the pinko-homo-gang)!

We have no viable counterattack because the Democrat party has been taken over by the left and the Republican party is riddled with many phonies who have no real convictions.
The left has a broad plan for all aspects of society- econimcally, poltically and socially. The Democrats have given the left the steering wheel of the party and has let them take it in a far left direction in exchange for the support that they give the Dem party.

But look at the Republican party. It is basically a business party with a narrow focus. Everyone wants to promote their narrow business interests. The Republican leadership does not give the conservative right the same kind of freedom as the left in the Dem party. Instead, the business interest Republicans fear the conservatives because they have a different agenda. The conservatives have principles and a broad vision based on Judeo-Christian values and the Constitution. The self-interesed Republicans agenda is one of greed and they fear that conservatives will get in their way and spoil their ambitions.

One thing that will be a positive after this one term presidency is I believe the Heartland learned a valuable lesson: Don’t ever believe the “Hope & Change” myth again. Truly North Carolina, Indiana, Virginia, Ohio, Colorado and Florida were duped in 2008.

I think whoever is going lead the GOP in 2012 will need to be able to put together a re-energized Reagan coalition. Lead by us conservatives. The business interests are welcomed aboard but they won’t be driving the bus.

The Heartland will finally see how extreme and far left the Democrat party has become. Many people are generational Democrats who think that it is still the same party that it was back in the days of JFK. Another thing that will wake people up are the attacks on our cultural and moral values. Some people are really, really dense when it comes to this issue. They think it is just money issues that matter but it is the values that ultimately matter because without the right values society falls apart and becomes a festering swamp not fit for human habitation. Without the right values, you cannot have a good economy because people will not know how to relate to material goods and will not know how to relate to each other. Without values money is just something to steal, whether it is stealing it illegally or legally through exploitation. The market is supposed to work for everyone and that can only happen when people are spiritually balanced. “Man does not live by bread alone.” “Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and all others things will be given to you.”

The Democrat party has been on the extreme left for over thirty years now but they managed to fool millions of people by pretending to be normal people when they campaigned for election. It is true that many politicians can be very clever and slippery liars but the Democrat politicians are aided by a large number of voters who are not very smart. They do not think, substituting herd mentality for thinking. The Dem voters can be really dense, which is a source of endless frustration but I think that this time, even some of the denser Democrat voters are starting to see the light. The Obama administration and the Pelosi/Reid Congress really give you a feeling that you are in the twilight zone.
