President Obamas campaign manager, David Plouffe, said that Governor Huntsman makes him a "wee bit queasy. He is referring to Huntsman supposedly being a legitimate challenger to President Obama in 2012/2016. After Plouffes comment Huntsman got a lot of media play, which has intensified with him being picked as the new ambassador to China.
The Democrats know exactly what they are doing placing a moderate-squishy Republican in the limelight. I guess the Dems apparent fear is supposed to make us start screaming to have Huntsman as the Republican nominee in 2012. They media think the message from his ambassadorship is clear to both Democrats and Republicans: Watch Huntsman.
This is just reverse psychology because a Huntsman pick would be a disastrous choice. Why is that?
Governor Huntsman is a younger version of John McCain. Huntsman has a moderate record when it comes to economic development, health-care reform, education and energy security. He has also welcomed regional cap-and-trade to fight climate change in Utah. He also supported the monstrous federal stimulus package. He has a mixed record when it comes to important social issues. In conclusion he is a big squishy and there are even arguments to be made that he is worse than John McCain.
I thought we had learned our lesson from the last election cycle. McCain was a hard sell to the Republican base and when McCain wasnt praising Obama he was criticizing his own party for being too rigid. Huntsman is following the same path with his advisors warning that if Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin continue to be integral parts of the Republican party then the party is doomed. His advisors are pandering idiots....

I remember when all the Dems were terrified that McCain would be the nominee (wink, wink).
Fool us once...
But is Obama sending him to China to be in the limelight or to get him out of the way?
Don't we already have a younger version of John McCain running around telling us how be good RINOS??
Who is this guy?? It sounds like he's one of those candidates being pitched by Democrats to tell Republicans how to become “electable”.
Sounds like a super-squish. What’s the big deal?
I guess two can play the Democrats game - Obama hopes that Huntsman doesn’t become a Democrat because he knows that Huntsman could beat him hands down in the 2012 Democratic primary.
If we don’t want a repeat of 2008, someone had better wake up and CLOSE THE PRIMARYS!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes. And perhaps not have the most important ones in Iowa and the northeast.
I remember when I hoped Obama would be the Rats nominee because I thought there was no way a rookie goofball with a Muslim name could win in America.
Shows what I know about today’s America.
” He is referring to Huntsman supposedly being a legitimate challenger to President Obama in 2012/2016”
Does this mean Obamanation is running for a third term?
Exactomundo!
“If we dont want a repeat of 2008, someone had better wake up and CLOSE THE PRIMARYS!!!!!!!!!!!”
Exactly
If he wants to seriously be the GOP nominee in 2012 he has a funny way of doing it. Going off to Peking to be the Ambassador to Red China is not the way to win the Republican nomination.
The serious 2012 contenders are going to lay the ground work now, and work their tails off campaigning for GOP candidates in 2010.
