Several local Republican lawmakers are considering running against Rep. Zack Space (D) next year, although none is ready to toss his hat into the ring yet.

The article requires a subscription. However, two names I’ve seen as possibilities are state Representative Jay Hottinger and state Senator John Carey. There are probably others.
This is a good sign, as the nomination practically went begging last year.
It’s a travesty that we lost this seat, nevermind Ralph Regula’s and Deb Pryce’s (the latter of which was outright stolen by the Sec of State). Way too many Dems sitting in GOP seats.
I’m hoping that Ashland County Commissioner Matt Miller (who should have been the nominee to succeed Regula) runs again. I don’t know what’s going on in the other district.
Steve Chabot says he’s running again to reclaim his seat...he was probably a victim of Obama’s coattails, esp. in Cincinnati.
I was surprised that we lost Regula’s seat, as McCain held on to it, I figured we were in better shape there.
I wonder if they’ll restore his 14 years of seniority. Sometimes that’s often a big reason why some incumbents don’t bother to seek a rematch. Who wants to start from scratch ?
Regula is elderly. The ‘Rat candidate won because the Republican nominee made a number of foolish gaffes on the campaign trail.
“I wonder if theyll restore his 14 years of seniority.”
I hope they do Cabot the courtesy.
Zach Space for his name alone needs to lose.
I didn’t hear about Kirk Schuring making gaffes, that’s unfortunate.
I hope Steve Stivers runs again against the thieving rat who stole it from him.
Stivers had it stolen from Sec of State Jennifer Brunner, not his rodent opponent.
True.
Kilory is guilty of receiving stolen goods.
I found a link to the full story. Note the names of the two state Senators who are thinking of running.

And don’t they sound enthusiastic.
