We all wondered I'm sure, why President Bush never seemed to speak up against his critics. I suppose he took the high road which is very admirable. Still it did my heart good to hear him at one of his last press conferences speak up and at least address some of the critics and their railings. He was quite strong about it and very convincing. For me it was like , Oh my God,Finally as I slapped the TV screen high five. It was the first time and the only time I've ever seen this. Perhaps we'll see more in the future or maybe there will be a book. Now, what about us? The Americans who have supported him for these past 8 years. Have we stood up and answered the critics? I for one ( and I hate to admit this) was so busy running a buisness, church, family etc.etc. I left the arguing of our side up to the Limbaughs,Hannitys,O'Reilly and Coulters of the world. Besides, I didn't want to ARGUE all the time with people whose mind would never be changed. Sometimes I purposely bit my lip especially if it were a customer. I wanted to get the buisness and conservative politics didn't seem like it would help me close the deal. OK I kept mouth shut, I should've spoke up but I didn't. Did you? That “thank you” letter is a wonderful idea and I found it easily worth a few minutes to sign it and add my own comments to it. For all his faults, he kept us, and our families, safe. And a few days of Barry makes W look better than ever. It felt good to thank him for his 8 years of service and for sticking by his beliefs in the face of not only a ruthless, hate-filled enemy but also a persistent and unceasing cruel and unwarranted pettiness in the media, in Washington, and in Hollywood as well. He took a beating from a great many so-called “Americans” but he took it well and kept doing his job.
