Video of McCain, then Palin. John McCain says he opposes drilling in ANWAR, but supports states' right to drill where they want. He is going to have to contend with future Republican heavyweight, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. She want to drill in her state. What say you Johnny Mac?

He backed himself into a corner with ANWAR, but he can easily get out of it and gather some great PR, if he would fly to the ANWAR, make a big deal about it on TV, and then after seeing how desolute it is and the small footprint the drilling would do, proclaim that he is now convinced that we can do oil drilling in an environmentally sound way and that he has been convinced to change his position.

How many times has the man gone to Iraq? Surely, he is tough enough to take a trip to the cold edge.

Actually, not a bad answer. He’s opposed to it...but that he’s not willing to make that decision for Alaska. What else could we ask for?

You are correct.. mcJUAN would be guaranteed the presidency if he would announce he supports all drilling, and building more refineries, that would be all he would have to campaign on..I went and got gas today 4.79, lady next to me said jez 45.00 to fill up her car... I mentioned she should call senator DiFi and Barbie, and tell them to drill here drill now.. she just looked at me..I dont know how high gas has to get before people really get up set and put the blame where it lies. with the government..

If John McCain would SHOW himself to be a leader, and get around in front of this parade, his support of opening up the site in ANWR would be the clarion call to the whole range of Republican office seekers in Congress and the state houses around the entire nation, who would see this as the rallying point for a Republican resurgence.

There is an issue out there that EVERY DAY is forcing itself into the consciousness of every prospective voter in the United States - the price of gasoline is too high already and going through the roof, what are our elected representatives going to do about it?

Democrats will do NOTHING to reverse, or even slow this price increase, which is beginning to have an impact throughout the entire economy, as people make decisions based on shrinking real spendable income. And when next winter’s heating and electricity bills hit, it will only get more desperate.

Be the bigger man, John. Soften your stand on protecting the sensibilities of the “Greenie weenies”, and take a good hard look at what REALLY is involved with protecting the environment. A wealthy nation with a robust economy has the means and motivation to do a serious job of cleaning up the environment, not some tree-hugger praising the virtues of Gaia.

Too bad we can’t have Palin as the nominee and Juanito as Ambassador to Mexico.

You are assuming McPain is not against drilling on purpose.. Already knows what Alaskan Oil can and could do for America but is STILL against it.. And that he is NOT FOR America becoming a 3rd world nation.. like Obama and Hillary.. Since the liberal media selected him as republican presidential candidate you also assume that McPain is not as liberal as they are.. but is masked as a conservative..

As is George Bush.. He is obviously doing NOTHING... on purpose too.. The bully pulpit must be stored in the White house garage.. George Bush and the whole Bush family knows exquitely what more domestic would do for America.. BUT all of them are doing NOTHING... NOTHING.. Neither will John McPain if he becomes Traitor-in-Chief.. All three presidential candidates are traitors.. All three are equal..

It shouldn’t be any of McCain’s freaking business if Alaska wants to drill in their own state.

It’s on federal land and each time drilling in ANWR comes up for a vote, the Dems vote “No”. It’s going take the people going in convoys to Washington with their pitchforks and torches to change Congress’ mind.

-— ANWR is on Federal land, not State land -—

Good point.

Maybe Alaska could do a little vertical drilling? It may be too far away but ..... ???

It’s a shame McCain blew so many opportunities ... or should I say it’s a shame the republican party blew this opportunity.

I have a black friend who has always voted Democrat. He is going to vote for Obama because the skin tone matches. However, my friend wants us to drill in ANWAR. He wants us to drill for our own oil.

Maybe, if McCain could draw an extreme contrast between the Marxist "I want gas prices to rise, just not this dramatically" Obama and a pro-energy independent America, he might be able to break through the racism of those who are voting for Obama... when they see the green they are loosing at the pump and grocery stores.
