Barack Obama is whining about the GOP attacking his wife Michelle: Barack Obama has a simple message for Republicans looking for a target: "lay off my wife." The Democrat who each day strides closer to his party's White House nomination showed a flash of steel Monday, in trying to shield Michelle Obama from the campaign trail crossfire.
"These folks should lay off my wife," Obama told ABC News, hitting out at a Tennessee Republican Party ad questioning the patriotism of his wife, a driven Ivy League-educated lawyer and mother of their two daughters.
"If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful, because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family," Obama said.
The 46-year-old Illinois senator said his wife was the most honest person he knew and "loves this country," and branded the ad as "low class."
Put aside the fact that both Nancy Reagan and Hillary Clinton have taught us that the power of First Ladies to effect policy decisions should never be underestimated, Barack Obama has no leg to stand on here. Since Michelle Obama came into the public spotlight, she's made it clear that she's no timid little girl, afraid to speak her mind. And that's her right, not to mention the fact that whether you like her not, there's no denying that Mrs. Obama is a bright, articulate person capable of standing on her own two feet. But the fact of the matter is that when you're running for president, your spouse is fair game, esp. a spouse whose spoken on the campaign trail on your behalf and has made controversial statements about the country you wish to run one day. In other words, the person you chose to make a life commitment to is a reflection on you and the American voter has a right to react to what she says. Then too, if you're going to whine about the GOP going after your wife, then tell your minions to lay off Cindy McCain, a woman who doesn't seem to have nearly the love for the spotlight as your wife does, yet arguably is getting it worse than Michelle when it comes to being criticized by the other side.
If he were a competent legislator, he would make efforts to ensure spouses were not allowed to make public policy, as the Democratic Party has condoned with the Clintons, instead of blaming the press.

The same kind of terrorists who support Obama did this:

Never apologize for them.
Never appease them.
Never forget.
How did Nancy Reagan influence policy? Or did she?
What country? Was he pointing at a map of Saudi Arabia when he said this?
The only stories I ever heard was in reference to her visiting an astrologer and perhaps recommending something to her husband because of that influence. IMHO, Nancy still submitted to how God created her with an instinct to submit to her husband, as opposed to other women who represent the Democrats who have scarred themselves for so long that they find more solace by rebellion than by submission.
Militant Michelle Obama, may be well degreed.........but I've yet to see her say or do anything smart.
IMHO, I’ve heard neither Obama’s wife nor Hillary ever make any statement attributable to a person with more than about a secondary education level.
Are we also to “lay off” of Bill Clinton? If not, then all is fair, is it not? I see a pattern in this guy’s lack of depth percetion or knowledge of history beyond his own lifespan, his particular brand of logic being a few steps short of reason coupled with the personal victim mentalities of he and his wife and the barriers of courtesy they feel should exist between themselves and the people they intend to lead into the future. I don’t see Obama as someone who’s ready to take a kick in the crotch without flinching or covering his nuts. What appears to be a hard-shelled chin on the exterior is merely a veneer of courage when in the big picture of these times, we need a President of the United States and not another American Idol.
She says she could not stand being harangued from the White House for eight long years about how eeeeevil and racist she is, and she is right. Can you imagine how shrill and annoying Michelle Obama would be once she is off the campaign trail, and can tell us what she really thinks?
Nancy Reagan didn’t suffer fools gladly among those who worked for her husband.
Think “personnel”.
Not that she picked the people up front, but that you didn’t want her to decide your tenure was bad for her hubby, for I understand she was known to weigh in on that.
I also understand that she was quite openly supportive of his Soviet summitry, at a time when plenty of conservative hawks thought it wasn’t such a hot idea.
Then yes, there’s the astrology thing, but she and others have said it involved matters of his schedule, not substantive policy, and that only after he was shot and she worried about possible future attempts.
I didn’t know that anyone was putting this in the context of whether Michelle is “submissive” or not to her husband. Maybe you don’t see it, but to me that veers off from what is centrally involved in this issue.
She’s running for First Lady, and she says the things she has about America.
People who love America and wouldn’t dream of voting this couple into the WH are weighing in with their reactions. Barack tells THEM to shut up, while it’s fine with him if SHE goes on yacking her head off. And the MSM gives the whole thing cover.
To me, that’s the essence.
One of the persistant evils of Affirmative Action is that when you see an African American person with higher degrees and subsequent success, you never know, but always suspect, that he or she advanced so far because of preferential treatment, rather than on the merits.
Michelle Obama went to Princeton and got an Ivy League law degree, but how hard was it for an African American to do those things twenty years ago? From what I recall of my college days, African Americans were being helped along and boosted up at every stage. While many of them were quite intelligent and capable of succeeding on their own, others were as dumb as a sack of hammers, and were only there because of the help they received.
As to which of these two groups Michelle falls into, it is difficult to say. But her thesis at Princeton, on the difficulties of being an African Americans at Princeton, amounts to a 40-page dare to her Advisor to flunk her.
She be lovin Africa for all the opportunities it gave and not the USA of KKK of A.
When Obuma’s Ho starts mouth poppin in publix, then she best (Ho-up) for the consequences.
Obuma is such a wimp and ain’t even a Brother. Reverend Manning said it right about Barack Hussein Mohomade Obuma, “just another long legged (Mack Daddy) pimpin the black masses, wiggers, commies, retards, islamic terrorists, brain dead zombies and the other usual anti-White/American cess pool sub-humanoids.”
M.O. is nothing short of a Mau Mau, ready to turn America into Zimbabwe where (Polar Bears) are always in open season.
M.O. should realize that 15% of the population will not last long in a revolution, against White Americans.
Loins, Tigers and Mau Maus Oh My!!!!!!!!!!! The Chronicles of M.O. in her nation of Mau Mau(s) will never get out of the bullpin.
Just The Facts,

Once again, you hit the nail right on the head. Michelle can say whatever fool racist notion pops into that empty head of hers, and it is our job to shut up and take it.
I can't do that for eight years. I just can't.
There is a film clip of Nancy making a comment under her breath during an interview and Ron repeated it almost verbatim.
People got all exicited and said she was the one running the show.
The lib short memory complex seems to forget that Edith Wilson and Rosalyn Carter both sat in on Cabinet meetings, and Hillary screwed up the health care debacle.
“Not that she picked the people up front, but that you didnt want her to decide your tenure was bad for her hubby, for I understand she was known to weigh in on that.”
She was watching his back which is what you want but if she’d also had her own back to watch then her actual role would’ve been diminished.
Back when I was living in Kenya (I am more of an African American than Michelle Obama will ever be...), my family had a beautiful and somewhat unusual house.
One side of the house was open and airy, with French doors leading out to wide verandas, which was the perfect thing for indoor/outdoor living in the pleasant climate of Nairobi. It was all very beautiful, but impossible to secure.
The other side of the house was built like a bunker, with slit windows and bars, completely of concrete, so it would not burn. The roof was a concrete slab, and the thing looked like it could take a direct hit.
Between the two sides was a stout steel swinging gate, called the Mau-Mau Gate. At night, or in the event of trouble, you locked yourself in behind the gate, where you had a little food and water and lots of guns squirreled away. The idea was that if things got really rough, the rest of the house would be destroyed, and you would survive to fight your way out.
I am trying to figure out where I would put a Mau-Mau Gate in my home in New Jersey, but there is no way to do it well. The whole place will burn, when it gets right down to it.
Well Gridlock if a mau mau revolution starts it will not last long. Good Americans (Patriots of all races) will defend themselves against the anarchists.
Does New Jersey have a ban on private citizens owning guns?
I hope not and it is a shame when law abiding citiizens get punished for the crimes committed by criminals.
I see your parent’s were very vigilant in the preparation for a mau mau attack in Kenya. We in America should be just as prepared for an attack from any anti-American group.
M.O. is just down right hateful and racist. M.O. has no love for anyone who does not support her BLT ideaology and anger.
Thank you for your informative and sincere post.
Respectfully,
NSNR
I can't do that for eight years. I just can't.
The Obama's are amazingly condescending aren't they...
...They enter the room proclaim one and all to be ignorant racist , expect a smattering of applause and then leave room amid submissive bowed heads.
No way in Hell can I live with that eitheer!.
Not so sure about that.... Her senior thesis at Princeton was all about how difficult it was to be a black coed at Princeton. Entrance to Harvard Law? And working as the community outreach coordinator for the U of Chicago hospital at $300K? That's a patronage job....
I know Bush isn’t running for a third term, but he could quip, “Heck, I wish Laura had been making $300K a year for a do-nothing job while I was campaigning. We could have had a much better lifestyle.”
Can you imagine Michelle’s head spinning after that one?
GOP Rumor: Michelle Obama Whitey Video Lurks
Question for the 'Rat proletariat: Do you really think the Pubbies have the 'nads to try this...?
Did you live in Kenya during the 1950s Mau Mau rebellion?
It was well after that. But memories are long, on both sides.
Yeah. Somehow Michelle Obama's intelligence and abilities suddenly became worth twice as much the day her husband became a US Senator, so the hospital bumped her salary from $150K to $300K.
The cynical among us would suspect that that extra $150,000 had nothing to do with how well she does her job.
The problem I have with this is that she has interjected herself and her beliefs into this campaign for the last year by criticizing everyone and everything that stands in her husband’s way to the presidency. So now when anyone takes exception to any statement she makes we’re told to back off? She made herself an issue with her statements! If she’s not woman enough to defend herself that’s not my problem. She’s an affirmative action Ivy League lawyer for God’s sake! Does anyone truly believe she engenders sympathy? She’s one of the most bitter, corrosive figures I’ve ever seen in the political arena.
Why go after her? Do people think that voters are going to change their mind about voting for Barack because we say bad things about his wife? The conservatives weren’t voting for him anyway, the liberals were always voting for him, and the independents hate the politics where you attack people’s wives.
So you might find it personally satisfying, and maybe you think you have a great argument.
But it’s preaching to the choir, while turning off the unsaved. Forget whether she is “fair game” — it’s a BAD strategy. It contributed to the loss of 3 seats in the house already this year.
If Obama was the perfect candidate, you’d have to go after his wife out of desperation. Obama is a deeply FLAWED candidate, and anybody who is told what Obama will do to our country, and has a brain, will turn from him.
Nobody who still would vote for Obama after being shown his record and his actual statements would have their mind changed because we attack his wife.
If she says something false, we call her on the false statement by explaining the truth. If she makes a stupid comment, we let the media cover it as the story it is, and leave it be. We don’t need to be dredging it up again and again — it makes us look desperate.
Thank you for the link.
I never thought that I would see a spouse of a presidential candidate who was more of a radical, narcissistic, arrogant, hubristic, self-entitled, and maddening solipsist than Hilary Clinton. To the nations dismay, I think we have found her in Michelle Obama. She is the loose cannon Benito Mussolini face of liberal fascism that Barack Hussein Obama is so careful to hide. Barack Obama is more practiced at keeping the mask up. But in the liberal Hyde Park ghetto that she lives in Chicago, attending cocktail parties with her coterie of liberal U of C academics, Black South Side DemonRat pols, public sector sinecures, NGO flacks and liberal Sun Times columnists, EVERBODY she knows thinks and feels this way.
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obamas resentments toward her country and its citizens were undoubtedly nourished by the effect that her set-aside affirmative action appointment to Princeton had on her. It would appear that she was unable to reconcile her black cultural nationalist/separatist philosophy with her tenure at Princeton, a place for which she was wholly unsuited by dint of preparation and talent, if her poorly written senior thesis is any indication. Rather than appreciating the AA slack cut her by the lib profs, she chose to lash out at what she saw as condescension and maybe some pity from them. She felt that she didnt belong and she probably didnt, but her racial sensitivity antenna read racism and bigotry rather that contemptuous pity. Her artificially inflated ego couldnt stand that and she has mutated an enormous shoulder chip ever since.
Now we can only hope that the Barack He who must not be middle named Obama campaign does not muzzle her and deprive the GOP of a priceless asset. Bur from what I hear that is a dangerous proposition for any worker in that campaign. She appears to be as unmanageable and ornery as the Hildabeast.

It was interesting listening to the reactions of the various candidates to yesterday's announcement that Teddy Kennedy has brain cancer.
Hillary Clinton gave a reasonable answer acknowledging the Senator's long and storied career and wished him well.
Barack Obama said something like "I am so indebted to Senator Kennedy, because he has helped me for years, and I am fortunate to have him as my guide in the Senate". It was your typical Everything-Is-All-About-Me formulation that one normally associates with the Clintons.
It is a remarkable thing when a politician arrives on the scene that makes even the Clintons look modest and reasonable.
