Like a bad relationship gone sour the Republican Party is suffering, badly. A friend of mine was at NRCC Offices in Washington on Wednesday the day after the Mississippi Congressional race and she told me it was like a morgue in there. With 3 straight house seat losses most folks think that the GOP will lose upwards of 20 house seats this November, another devastating defeat.
The Republicans need to reevaluate themselves, bring back fiscal discipline and actually stand for something; simply voting against the Democrats solves nothing, but rather we need leadership that will truly tackle the issues that need to be addressed.
The repertoire of the GOP can be a good one, but what is it? We are not the party of Ronald Reagan anymore and anyone thinking we ever will be again is delusional. During the Republican primaries you would have thought as though Reagan was the second coming of Christ, that he would rise from the dead and save our party; not happening folks, sorry.

Welcome to Free Republic.....maybe.
I have thought about calling Davis (he's my mayor) and advising him he needs to get Fred Thompson in the district to rally the troops. Also he needs to build bridges with Glenn McCollough, the other Republican Davis had only beating by a couple hundred of votes a few weeks before. Things had not healed yet after a bitter primary.
Weird, that's all the Dems have done for seven years, and it seems to be effective.
Oh yes, the Repblican party is in disarray. And conversely, the Democrat party is a picture of efficiency and strong leadership. Pelosi, Dean, Kennedy...who wouldn’t jump off a cliff for those paragons of virtue?
I read the complete article on your (and your compadres) website.
I don't want to be overly harsh sounding this morning, but there really wasn't much to it.
Summarizing the article: Republicans are lost, but they can be relevant again (but nothing will be provided in this article to provide a direction to that relevancy). However, let it be clearly known that the author is smarter than everyone else, especially anyone who thinks the Republican party can be the party of Ronald Reagan again, and anyone thinking it can, is delusional.
If you're trying to make your website a go-to place for FR members, I think you and your cohorts first need to read FR’s front page. This is a Conservative website. Conservatives aren't all Republicans, but they do support Conservative Republicans.
Second, the author of this article needs quite a bit of help in his thinking, discernment, and writing skills. Maybe one of your other cohorts at the website could help him out?
BTW Katy, won't they let you put your picture up on the website too?
Welcome to FR.
Thanks for in input Col Freeper!
We all at RUF come from very different backgrounds and have come together under the party for different reasons...That’s one thing we like about our site, we’ve got a bunch of different Republicans and Conservatives who are there for different reasons and thus you will not get a canned response or the same old prattle...you may run into elsewhere. I urge you to keep check in with us daily as we have different posts from our writers. I’ll pass the message along but I also urge you to comment on the blog and leave a message with him directly. We love getting input from readers.
They keep trying to get me to submit a picture, but I haven’t found one I’m happy with yet..! It’ll be up soon. Thanks again!
Did your friend hear any revelations on how the GOP needs to return to its conservative roots and values and give the voters a conservative nominee instead of the fool they are trying to saddle us with? Till they change course back to conservatism they are toast.
