RUSH: I want to hit you between the eyes here. I keep hearing from people who say, "Rush, we're screwed. We are screwed, no matter what happens here. Whatever scenario you just announced, we're screwed. If McCain is the president, big-time Democrat majorities in the House and Senate, we're screwed. If Obama the president, big-time majorities in the House and Senate, we're screwed." I don't think we're screwed.
If I thought we were screwed, I would retire. What would be the point here? A friend of mine runs a business. In this business he's got a lot of egos. He's got a lot of prima donnas, a lot of divas, a lot of people who think the world resolves around 'em and they aren't getting enough attention. He sent a memo out. "I hate negative people. Negative people make positive people sick. Don't think I'm not talking about you," he said. I don't know what the end result of that was, but I assume it shook a lot of people up. I don't like negative people, either. I used to be one. I used to look at it typical: glass half empty. When I got a massage, two minutes in I'd say, "Darn it, this is going to end," and I'd spend the rest of the 58 minutes in anticipation of it ending and being disappointed, rather than sitting there and enjoying it. If I bought a new car, I'd sit there, "Yeah, this is great, but someday this new car smell is not going to be here." I used to do this. I don't anymore, for a host of reasons.
But I can't stand being around negative people. I can't stand being around fatalists. I can't stand being around defeatists. I understand it, but at some point I lose my ability to respond to them. How many times can you say, "I'm sorry you feel that way," and what does that accomplish? I don't want to sit here, "Yeah, we're screwed. Damn it, we're really screwed! Yeah, you're right. We are so screwed. Bend over forward, backgrounds, grab the ankles. We're screwed," and then what do you do? I'll never forget Ronald Reagan. The Soviet Union had been around since the end of World War I, and they kept asking Reagan: What are you going to do about it? He said, "If we just wait 'em out, they'll fail. They will collapse of their own immorality." He gave 'em a little nudge, but they did collapse in their own immorality. I don't think conservatism's finished. People in the Republican Party who are not conservative running for reelection, deserve to lose. Just get rid of the dead weight and start over. Screw them!
END TRANSCRIPT
Rush obviously doesn't post on FR.
Oh and by the way, we are screwed.
Before the S. Carolina pimary, Rush said “can you say, ‘we are so screwed’”!!!!
He must have emptied a bottle of Happy Pills today.
Rush is right.Get rid of the dead weight(rinos).Having them in the party didnt get any drilling or permenant taxcuts etc etc.It starts at the top.If you care about our country dont vote for rinos at any level.
Thanks for posting. Helped relieve my depression and frustration.
Rush, Rush, Rush...So out of touch...
Denial....GOP is screwed (not that I care) and conservatives are screwed (that I care about)
Heresy! If our non-conservatives don't beat their non-conservatives, America will be beyond salvage. Total destruction, we are ALL GONNA DIE.

DOOMED. DOOOOOOOMED!!
Sure beats all the Nancy's on this board, listing their grievances 24/7, for all the world to see.
Crying in public is unbecoming, and quite sissified actually.
We’re screwed.
Maybe not screwed, but perhaps doomed.
I’m just sayin’.....
BALLYHOO
(MUSIC BY MISHA PORTNOFF AND WESLEY PORTNOFF LYRICS BY NORMAN ANTHONY)
Sure, business is bunk,
And Wall Street is sunk,
We’re all of us broke, and ready to croak.
We’ve nothing to dunk,
Can’t even get drunk,
And all the while, they tell us to smile:
Cheer up, gentle citizens, though you have no shirts,
Happy days are here again. Cheer up, smile, nertz!
All aboard prosperity, giggle ‘till it hurts!
No more bread-line charity. Cheer up, smile, nertz!
Cheer up, cheer up, cheer up, cheer up, cheer,
Up, cheer up, cheer up, cheer, better times are here.
Sunny smilers we must be, the optimist asserts,
Let’s hang the fat-head to a tree! Cheer up, smile, nertz!
The world’s in the red,
We’re better off dead,
Depression, they say, is in session to stay.
Our judges are queer,
Our banks disappear,
And all the while, they tell us to smile:
Cheer up, gentle citizens, though you have no shirts,
Happy days are here again. Cheer up, smile, nertz!
All aboard prosperity, giggle ‘till it hurts,
No more bread-line charity.
Nertz!

I say screw them, flush the toilet and get rid of all the RINO’s in our party.
Screw them.
I say screw them, flush the toilet and get rid of all the RINO’s in our party.
Screw them.
Rush is right: it is always darkest before the dawn. There are many reasons for Conservatives to feel lousy right now, and right now, I feel lousy. But do not forget: we are right - substantively, intellectually, morally, and empirically. Never forget the Liberals are scared to death of one thing above all others: reality. That is why they spend so much time and effort on “change”: it is an emotional escape from the necessities of life: to earn a living, to pay one’s own way, to adapt to the world as it is and not as we wish it would be. To dream of a perfect world is not a sin; to demand it, is.
It’s not defeatist to realize that the half full glass has vermin and bird poop in it. Defeatist would be me moving from Portland because of the overabundance of moonbats.
Rush is right as usual.
Even the MSM won't be able to pin it on the Republicans if the Dems control everything.
Which reminds me...remember when the Republicans controlled everything?
As I recall, the DEMOCRATS were still running things in Washington, obstructing everything the GOP president and congress tried to accomplish.
Of course, the Stupid Party won't be able to figure out how that's done...
I have been one of those people. No more. Thanks for the pep-talk Rush.
Obama, Clinton, or McQueeg? Yeah.... We're screwed.
Screw them."
Twice!
It’s hard not to feel disgusted with the current political situation we are stuck with. Even if we win we still lose with a pigheaded guy like McCain. I agree that these people will eventually collapse under their own weight but I’m worried about the amount of damage they will do during that period of time. Look at the damage they’ve done already.
It is a little easier for you Rush to be positive. You make $250 million. You can afford the big car and gas. A lot of people cannot. My wife and I are retired. We thought we were in pretty good $$$ shape. We have a mortgage and car payment. But it is the rising utility bills, gas prices, and rising food prices that are starting to eat into us. We rarely use our car any more. We mass log our trips and try to do everything while out on a once a week run. Groceries, pay a bill, any other shopping. Our car gets 30 MPH, so that is decent. But, at some point, regular people are not going to be able to live on $4 to $10 a gallon gas. At some point, you will have to decide whether to eat or drive. We can thank BOTH parties for this. The Dims for stopping drilling and the liberal republican party for not having a spine to fight them.
bump
With more damage on the way, President elect Obama and more House seats for the Dem's.
I hate to say it but the only chance this country has is to watch as it melts down under Democrat leadership and let the Conservatives pick up the pieces later.
Sad as it seems.
Egg's will be breaking so we can only hope for a better omelet in 2-4 yrs.
What you said! I am amazed at the Dover Beach mentality on this board now-a-days. It is damn near unamerican. What did Phylis Schlafly and William F Buckley in the dark days of Nixon? A lot of complaining I sure, but a lot of postitive stuff too. I'm tuning in to Rush more often and visiting sites like Jack Wheeler's ToThePointNews. Depressing as the election results are, it's not the end of the world.
It is obvious amongst the top radio media , i.e. that RONALD REAGAN - ism is profoundly respected: AS A MAN, PRESIDENT , LEADER, MORAL CONSERVATIVE .... ON AND ON WITH POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES.
Let’s correlate in every regard to the Alan Keyes Campaign
that which affiliates him to the wonder of Ronald Reagan.
For instance: REAGAN THEN IS ALAN KEYES NOW.
REAGAN AGAIN MEANS VOTE ALAN KEYES NOW.
ALAN KEYES NOW IS A RETURN TO REAGAN PROSPERITY
It is the promotion of positivism with a twist. One begins to recognize Alan Keyes every time Reagan is referenced.
It beats, I did not even know he was running or who is he? Even the media will get the bug to reference the present day REAGAN is ALAN KEYES. This does not take away the superb individuality of Dr. Keyes but helps penetrate the hard hearts of those holding on to nothing but negetives. i.e. hillary, obama, mccain!
None of the others can even begin to be compared to Ronald Reagan.
ALAN KEYES CAN BE AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE REFERENCED WITH THE REVERED NAME, IMAGE AND LEGACY OF RONALD REAGAN.
We have to continue efforts to keep Dr. Keyes in the Presidential Run and we have to be participants in every way. I offer this as another idea to put into action as Dr. Keyes said recently, “Act Like Americans”. Let’s keep up the momentum as the meltdown of the current 3 ring circus looks for a Super Production
from the KEYES FOR PRESIDENT SUPPORTERS.
My husband and I are retired also. I have made some small initiative towards fighting the RNC and the issues. I contacted John Kline (conservative in MN) and donated to him. I will donate to any conservative Republican. I’m also doing a massive email campaign to the spineless Republicans to get off their duffs and drill in the U.S...we have tons of oil and gas right on our own U.S. property! To heck (I wanted to be more graphic) with the Sierra Club and the Rockefeller Foundation. I’ve written our local dems and republicans on the issues...I also wrote McCain as to why I will not donate to his cause. Folks...it’s time to take action and scream! The squeaky wheel will get the grease!
Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon?
Yes...Oregon.
