The only good thing about watching the speech was getting to watch it in the Fox News green room with Colorado GOP Rep. Tom Tancredo, a stalwart immigration enforcement advocate. It was nice to have someone to shake heads along with as empty platitude after platitude was laid on thick. Allah has video highlights of Bush's speech and brilliant commentary as usual over at Hot Air.

UPDATE III: Hot Air has a round-up, and so does NZ Bear. The most telling, and likely the most influential, reaction so far? Hugh Hewitt, who also occupies the center-right on this and many other issues. After initially giving the speech high marks, Hugh was stunned to hear Julie Myers of ICE act as though no one ever heard of a fence.

UPDATE II: Professor Bainbridge agrees with the President on the need for comprehensive reform instead of phased approval, and liked the speech overall.

Steve King (Republican-IA) - who has earned a 100% "Best and Brightest" rating from the American Conservative Union - there are 12 American citizens murdered by illegal aliens every day. There are 13 American citizens run down by illegal alien drunk drivers every day. This comes to a total of 9,125 Americans killed by illegal aliens every year. Additionally, 8 American children are sexually abused by illegal aliens every day. This comes to 3,000 American children sexually abused by illegal aliens annually.

You can't say that illegal aliens have not been detrimental to this country. These numbers dwarf the number of Americans killed by jihadist terrorists as well as the number of American troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The average annual notices of intent to fine employers of illegal aliens under Clinton was 865. The average under President Bush is 79.5. This is a 90 percent reduction in average annual notices of intent to fine employers of illegal aliens.

And then there is 2004 where, under President Bush, only 3 notices of intent to fine employers of illegal aliens were done. 3!! But that was President Bush's worst year. Let's compare best years then.

Under Clinton his best year for Worksite Arrests was 1997 with 17,554 reported. President Bush's best year was 2001 with 735 worksite arrests reported. This is a 99.7 percent reduction in worksite arrests under President Bush when comparing best years.

Former Military Intelligence chief Aharon Ze'evi warned an impending world jihad "tsunami" that he said may soon descend on the entire Middle East.

Only 400 showed up.

Meanwhile, Democrats have been screaming and pouting about not being briefed on the NSA's terrorism surveillance programs. Nancy Pelosi complained:

Nancy Pelosi explained to a group of progressive journalists about a week before the latest NSA stories came out, the briefings have been so heavily classified as to make it hard for Democrats to ignore that characterization, but if the briefings have been so regular, why won't the administration release the dates and lengths of these allegedly regular briefings?"

Last night, I spent about an hour (vainly) trying to convince an (otherwise conservative) college student that America didn't back Osama in Afghanistan against the Soviets-- it's just a Michael Moore meme.

Then I flipped on CSPAN Morning Edition this morning and heard some moonbat barking up the "Loose Change" film.

The lies are slowly seeping into the culture. Next thing you know, they'll believe Reagan bombed Kaddafi into submission (and Lockerbie was just a fluke).

"They're just too scared to face the truth. The thought that there is an enemy out there that wants us dead, that wants us to submit to their religion and dominate us, is terrifying. It means they would have to fight, and they're too scared to do that. It's much more comforting to fantasize that Bush did it (because I suspect most of them, in their heart of hearts, know he really didn't, and, furthermore, they're really in no danger attacking him).  They're scared. A New York Police Department officer born in Bangladesh testified Thursday that commanders assigned him straight out of the police academy to go undercover in a Muslim neighborhood as part of their response to the Sept. 11 attacks.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times ran a piece of open-borders propaganda masquerading as journalism, which featured a Riverside, Calif., landscaper named Cyndi Smallwood who claims she can't find workers to dig ditches even at $34 an hour.

The claim seems preposterous, but the Times assures us that Smallwood has no ideological ax to grind. She is "ambivalent on immigration reform," the Times reports. Just an ordinary landscaper, you know.

But it turns out there's a tiny bit more to the story that the LA Times isn't telling you. Reader Christopher L. wrote this morning to point out that a simple Google search shows that Cyndi Smallwood is president of the Orange County chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association, and is a member of the association's "Immigration Task Force." The activist group opposes the "Punitive Immigration Reform Bill Proposed by Rep. Sensenbrenner."

Eagle-eyed Conor Friedersdorf also followed up:

An all too common form of hack journalism consists of going to an interest group, finding a useful character for an anecdotal lead and conveniently passing the source off as though they’re just a regular citizen on the sidelines of the debate. It’s a dirty little secret of journalism, but most hack journalists who do it at least have the decency to slip in a mention of the person’s affiliation.

In this article the Times goes a step further, inserting obviously false language suggesting — no, actually stating outright — that Smallwood is ambivalent about immigration reform. The suggestion is that this is a regular person, so you shouldn’t discount what she’s saying as you might if she was someone pushing an agenda.

Turns out Smallwood is quite a busy, savvy p.r. agent for the open-borders lobby. Conor links to articles here and here and here on her political activities, and observes:

If traveling to Washington DC to lobby for a trade association, planting pro-guest worker program quotes in multiple press outlets and backing a specific faction in the immigration reform debate is considered ambivalence on immigration reform I’d like to see the Times version of an activist!

I would like the LA Times to explain its failure to disclose these relevant details. Was this laziness and incompetence on the part of the reporter? Or something else? Will they go back and let readers know the full picture of who this woman is? What else aren't they telling us?

And while they're at it, why don't the Times' editors press a little harder on this:

The other employees are Latino and, as far as Smallwood can tell, all in the country legally. Her employees need driver's licenses and the ability to move through freeway checkpoints near the border, which tend to eliminate any with fake papers.

Since they are subsidizing this government contractor, the taxpayers of California might like to get a straight answer on the immigration status of Smallwood's employees. Driver's license requirements, of course, are no barrier for illegal aliens to get jobs. Hello:

Finally, the Times notes that as a public works contractor, Smallwood is subject to state prevailing wage laws. There are, doubtlessly, a thicket of other requirements (years of experience needed to fill supervisor positions, perhaps?) that might help explain Smallwood's alleged inability to find legal American employees.

Maybe the LA Times could find out and report back on the other side of the story. For once.

Update: A reader e-mails:

Smallwood was on Laura Ingraham's show this am. What the LA Times didn't report was the $34 per hour job was the prevailing wage on state contract projects, and she had two (yes two) openings for that high paying position, which requires (per Smallwood) 2-5 years experience in landscape construction, the ability to read plans/blueprints and the ability to operate a bobcat, ditch witch or similar ditch digging equipment.

From my listener's perspective, she was reasonably forthcoming when questioned by Ms. Ingraham, so I can only assume she would have been forthcoming to the Times writer if the same questions were asked. That, of course leads to two conclusions: (1) the Times staffer was too lazy to ask simple questions; or (2) the piece was an agenda-driven article...never mind-knowing the Times, it was likely both.

Update 2: Inside Riverside blogs another key point:

If anyone bothers to read past the headline and first paragraph they will learn that Cyndi already has 12 employees. She says all of her employees are legally allowed to work here.

So what is the problem?

The real problem appears to be Cyndi's preferred method of advertising her $34 an hour job American's won't do; word of mouth. I'm sure she is reaching a vast audience do that.

Now you may be wondering why anyone would pay $34 an hour for landscaping. Well it's not up to Cyndi. You see she does contract work for the State of California and they set the pay rates.

This afternoon Cyndi was on the John and Ken Show. She told them that since the article appeared in the LA Times this morning she has received over 30 resumes. Yep, 30 resumes in just a few short hours for a job American's won't do. Cyndi may want to re-think her not-so-hi-tech word of mouth advertising campaign.

John and Ken took some calls from the audience. Cyndi, who seems like a nice lady, appeared to get flustered that everyone who called in wanted the job.

At one point she asked a caller why he had never stopped on the side of the road and asked how much the guys shoveling dirt were making.

Well who in their right mind would do that? I always assumed the guys in the bright orange vests on the side of the highway were prisoners on some sort of work release program. Walking up to them and asking "Hey, how much ya making diggin that there hole fella" would get you a fist in your face for your trouble. Seriously, who knew these guys were making $34 an hour? It makes you wonder how much the 5 Cal-Trans guys standing around watching the one Cal-Trans guy dig a hole are making. It also partially explains why California has a $100 billion plus budget.

Shock in Berlin as Suspected Rapists Freed

Nowhere is the news reported that this is part of a gang rape epidemic sweeping areas with high Arab Muslim immigration.

As is the case with young Arab Muslims throughout the West, teenage girls are generally forbidden to go out, leaving separatist gangs of predatory Arab Muslim males with highly misogynist attitudes. Harassment of females has therefore exploded throughout the West, most shockingly demonstrated in the recent phenomenon of gang rape for sport. Listed below is the evidence.

While these cases are primarily not related to the core group of committed Islamists within Arab Muslim immigrant populations, there is some "trickle-down" of attitudes so it is also worth noting the rape aspects of Jihad ideology as well: The Rape Jihad.

Germany
Shock in Berlin as Suspected Rapists Freed

The youths, aged 13 to 15, allegedly attacked their victim as she walked home from school in the Charlottenburg district which is generally seen as safe area with low crime rates.

While allegedly gang-raping the girl, the youths are reported to have filmed the sexual attack with a mobile phone camera. Media reports say the four later boasted about the rape to other school children and sent copies of the video to friends.

Police who detained the four earlier this week have so far not found any film footage of the alleged rape. There is suspicion the video pictures may have been erased and mobile phones of the suspects are being analysed by experts in a bid to retrieve any pictures

Adding to the potential explosiveness of the alleged rape is the fact that the four suspects are all the children of immigrant families, while the victim is German. The normally well-informed Bild tabloid said the suspects were two German-Turks, a German Russian and a German-Angolan.

Federal police statistics released on Monday show non-German youths under the age of 21 were twice as likely to be crime suspects last year than German nationals of the same age.

Officers in charge of the case are convinced the four youths carried out the gang rape and DNA tests are being carried out on sperm traces found on the victim.

Given the brutality of the attack, there has been anger over a decision by Berlin justice officials to order the youths be set free. The 13-year-old suspect is too young to be kept in detention under German law, but the other three could be held.

Berlin justice Senator Karin Schubert insists, however, that even youths suspected of violent crimes can only be kept locked up if there is danger they will flee justice.France

The incident is not isolated. The Australian Sun-Herald reports that police data show that some 70 racially motivated rapes of young white girls, one as young as 13, by Middle Eastern immigrants have taken place in the last two years. “Fifteen youths and men have so far been charged with more than 300 offenses relating to matters since mid-2000 alone. They are all of Middle Eastern extraction. Outfoxing America

Just over a year ago I wrote a post entitled Al Qaeda Tours and Travel, spelling out in clear painful detail exactly how Al Qaeda and other Muslim fundamamentalist groups get their foot soldiers into the United States. This investigative report dated 17 May 2006 entitled "Kingdom of the Illegals" might shed some more light on the picture.

What I find disturbing, and so should you, it that it would take the issue of illegal immigration rather than the issue of national security to convince many Americans that our unsecured borders presented a problem. What many Americans fail to realize is just how serious the problem is and how Al Qaeda and their supporters have been actively infiltrating our borders since 2001.

The surface to air missiles are of the Russian Strela type.

The newspaper report details that the technology transfer took place after meetings held in Beirut Lebanon between representatives of Iraqi al-Qaeda leader Zarqawi and the Iranian funded terrorist group Hezbollah.

Cauley's link to a Democratic campaign seems likely to further cloud the credibility of her story. Two of the three phone companies Cauley fingered, BellSouth and Verizon, have since denied the accuracy of the May 11 USA Today story, and BellSouth yesterday went so far as to demand the newspaper “retract the false and unsubstantiated statements” made by Cauley in her piece.

There have also been questions about the timing of the story, which was given huge play on USA Today’s front-pages shortly before the former head of the National Security Agency, General Michael Hayden, was due to face confirmation hearings to be the next CIA director, and given the fact that many of the key points of the story were actually reported last December by the New York Times.

Friday’s USA Today carries BellSouth’s demand of a retraction on page 4A, below a more prominent story headlined “Senators challenge Hayden on surveillance,” with partial transcripts of General Hayden being asked yesterday about the claimed NSA database program. According to today’s USA Today:

“BellSouth asked USA Today on Thursday to ‘retract the false and unsubstantiated statements’ about the company that it contends were in a May 11 story about a database of domestic calling records maintained by the National Security Agency.

In a letter to the newspaper's publisher, Craig Moon, the company noted that the story said BellSouth is ‘working under contract with the NSA’ to provide ‘phone call records of tens of millions of Americans’ that have been incorporated into the database.

‘No such proof was offered by your newspaper because no such contracts exist,’ stated the letter, portions of which were read by spokesman Jeff Battcher. ‘You have offered no proof that BellSouth provided massive calling data to the NSA as part of a warrantless program because it simply did not happen.’ Read it all

LGF noted the questions about the story a few hours after our original post, but I see that quite a few moonbat bloggers are trying to make an issue of this.

What a shame those moonbat bloggers didn't read any of the first 49 posts in the original thread. If they had, they would have seen two posts in particular:

Fifteen minutes after Charles posted the thread, I posted #34.

Four minutes later, got milk? posted the same link at #49.

Other posters also posted links to articles questioning the report.

Less than 20 minutes passed before the accuracy of the original report was questioned in the comments. Charles took less than 4 hours to update the story.

In other words, the blogosphere worked. Information was posted, questioned and doubts noted - in next to time at all.

A Revealing Lack Of Consistency

Why is it that the same people who claim to stand for diversity and the dignity of the individual manage to deride their political opponents in the most bigoted and degrading terms? I understand that many people do not find Michelle Malkin to their taste. However, what we find is that Michelle's critics continuously reveal themselves as immature, chauvinistic, and sexually frustrated. Like clockwork, when she started v-blogging, a blogger had to make a reference to it as some sort of pornography, only this time the blogger is Alex Pareene, one of the new writers at the professional blog Wonkette. Rather than find something significant to criticize, rather than opposing one of Michelle's pieces with actual argument, Pareene instead decided to post this exchange: Yeah, yeah, that's the highly original Wonkette for you. Alex can't even be bothered to come up with a new smear; instead, he just exhumes the tired cliche of referring to Michelle as a whore. The only humor comes by accident as Wonkette's commenters refer to Michelle as a hater. It's a cowardly tactic besides being immature and (in this case) misogynistic. "The problem that these people have with Michelle Malkin is that she calls a spade a spade, and can back it up to boot. This is why they hate her so, especially given that she is female and Asian and so does not fit into their PC pigeonholes."

Able Danger Documents Discovered?

The Able Danger blog has news from a FOIA request filed by Scott Malone of NavySeals.com and Christopher Law of PublicEdCenter.org that has produced an interesting response from the Pentagon. When they demanded the release of all information regarding the Able Danger project, the DoD rejected the request after a bit of bureaucratic misdirection. However, they acknowledged the existence of over 9500 pages of documentation -- apparently the same paperwork that they told Congress no longer existed: The assertion that 9500 pages of evidence still exists at the Pentagon will no doubt surprise members of Congress that received little from their investigations into the program. After the Beslan massacre, I told several of my friends that a school bus filled with American children would be a perfect hostage vehicle/situation for propaganda-savvy terrorists. The media imagery alone would be priceless, with terrified children and parents, seemingly paralyzed first-responders, and the media engaged in an inevitable orgy of self-promotion.

I cannot be the only person to have thought of this, but let's hope those that are evaluating this as a warning take it very seriously.

THE JIHADI SNIPERS REVISITED

For most people, the Beltway-area sniper case is a distant memory. Over and done. But in Montgomery County, Md., the pain and suffering caused by convicted killing spree murderers Lee Malvo and John Muhammad is as fresh and raw as it was three years ago when the pair terrorized the area--leaving 10 dead and three injured in their wake.

At the time, I covered two main aspects of the story that were underplayed by the MSM--Lee Malvo's illegal alien catch-and-release story and Nation of Islam convert Muhammad and Malvo's Muslim hate-mongering. Snide MSM'ers and the CAIR propagandists attacked those of who called these thugs what they are: terrorists.

This week, the snipers faced off against each other during Muhammad's trial for six of the murders in Montgomery County. Muhammad is serving as his own lawyer. On the witness stand, Malvo revealed the chilling details of just how much terror the Muslim pair sought to inflict in this community--from bombings to mass murder of children and pregnant women to the random slaying of six white people a day for 30 days.

Via the NYSun:  "...a two-phase plan to shoot as many as six random people each day for 30 days in the Washington area and then target children and police officers with explosives. They planned to place explosives on school buses in Baltimore, kill a Baltimore police officer, and then set off explosives packed with ball bearings at the officer's funeral."

The Montgomery County Gazette adds this detail from the testimony: And the Telegraph fills in more in its report, " The sniper's plan: kill six whites a day for 30 days:"

And what kind of indoctrination would Muhammad and Malvo's army have received to prepare them for their terrorist assaults on American cities? Hint: Try a six-letter word that starts with "M" and ends with "M." The jailhouse drawings of Malvo are worth a thousands words. I've dug up a few from the Wayback Machine to refresh your memories:

An extraordinary exchange just took place on the Senate floor over the last 40 minutes. It's the most important debate of the year, in my opinion.

The questions are these: Who do we let into this country and how many?  Under the Senate bill.... There would be, in effect, no limits.  If the current legal immigration level (950,000 a year for 20 years or 18.9 million over 20 years) is excluded from the total, according to Sessions, the Senate bill could be described as increasing legal immigration by 59 million to 198.2 million over 20 years.

4. No free education at any public school.
5. No social security for illegals.

6. No "anchor baby" laws.
7. No giving caught illegals a court date that they will ignore, while letting them go free.

What the Base Thinks

The Bush administration and Republican Senators have badly misjudged both the attitudes of most Republicans (and, of course, most Americans) toward illegal immigration, and the intensity of those views. While we have opposed the Senate plan, we have been pretty mild-mannered about it. So I'm turning the microphone over to my friend Bob Cunningham. No one I know of argues immigration-related issues more cogently. Equally important, no one I know of conveys the white-hot anger and sense of betrayal that millions of Americans feel about this issue more effectively.

We know that this site is widely read in the White House and in Congress. To all Republicans in Washington: please, please read what follows with care, and understand that Bob speaks for most Americans and the overwhelming majority of Republicans:

Here's what they're missing, and it is the principal reason, in my opinion, WHY the anti-ILLEGAL forces are so upset -- and so powerful.

It has to do with the bad faith, calculated deceit, Orwellian propaganda, dishonest sophistry, misdirection, arrogance, presumption, indifference to, and, indeed, contempt for the beliefs of huge numbers of ordinary Americans -- including LEGAL immigrants and Hispanic natives! --- on the part of political/media elites.

Let's recognize that the political process has --- democratically --- designated the illegals AS illegal. Why? Because we, as a nation, decided that their presence -- NOT themselves per se (as the false attribution of racism would have it) --- but their presence in such numbers for such purposes (the phony Jobs Americans Won't Do/Jobs Americans Are Not Doing) is undesirable. There are perfectly reasonable grounds for that judgment. When did we vote for the Mexification of America? ANS.: NEVER....Indeed, going back to the 1965 immigration "reforms", assurances were REPEATEDLY given (Kennedy) that such reforms would NOT lead to an influx or demographic change. And guess what? The burden of proof is NOT on the nation to justify this stance.

Period. Full stop. End of discussion.

Since these elites don't like that decision now they want us to accept a fait accompli..and more! They feel perfectly justified in collaborating in the subversion of our democratically enacted immigration regime --- with crass, narrow, economic special interests and with others having perhaps more sinister designs. Their objectives --- open borders, a free flow of cheap labor --- are plain now for all to see. Some no longer even bother to pretend otherwise.

Given that, there is NO REASON to believe ANY of their promises --- the "wall," enforcement of "tough" conditions for a "path to legalization/citizenship" or limits in a "tough and smart" "temporary" "guest workers" indentured servant-helot program. We also know that the very underlying rationale itself for "temporary" "guest workers" (the economically illiterate JAWD/JAAND) is in DIRECT CONTRADICTION to ANY arbitrary "limits"....Indeed, the very claim itself that deportation is "impossible" renders the enforcement promises self-refuting! We should all ignore the false promises and intentional non-feasance in the past?...and do I even have to mention the Simpson-Mazzoli fraud? "This time it's different"?....we REALLY mean it now?....

The ultimate retort of the immigration celebrationists --- let us call it the "immigrants are good people" argument --- is totally beside the point. It is an assertion that no one would disagree with, but it is also an argument that has NO internal LIMITING PRINCIPLE. There is, on its own terms, no non-arbitrary basis for excluding ANY ONE of the 6 billion non-Americans. Other than criminal disqualification, most of them, are, indeed "good people"....so what?

Well, we already decided the question of numbers and limits...and the political/media elites, in conjunction with the scofflaw employers, do NOT have standing to subvert the democratic decision made, upon deliberation, several times in reliance on what we now can see were plainly false promises.

Never again.

We Got Mail from Reuters (Bumped)

Early this morning at about 3:00 am on the West Coast, someone in Sweden Britain connected to the Internet and browsed over to this article at the Guardian by Inayat Bunglawala, media secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain: This code could open doors.

BunglawalaÂ’s piece (about the Da Vinci Code) is in the section of the Guardian site where readers can comment, and someone posted a link to LGF as a rebuttal to Bunglawala. Our Swedish British visitor clicked that link, leading him/her/it to this post: Swedish Muslims Demand ShariÂ’a.

At 3:23 am, this creature used our contact form to send the following email with the obviously phony Hotmail address ‘zionistpig@hotmail.com’ and the subject line, “You bunch of wankers.”

I look forward to the day when you pigs get your throats cut....

Well, isnÂ’t that tolerant.

But this particular death threat is a bit different from the run of the mill hate mail we get around here, because an IP lookup on the sender reveals that he/she/it was using an account at none other than Reuters News: RIPE Whois Database: 192.165.213.18. (Please note: the name and address below are those of ReutersÂ’ technical contact, not the name of the freak responsible for our hate mail. Please do not send him email.) Is a prominent British moderate Muslim sending death threats?

Charles Johnson at LGF got an email saying, "I look forward to the day when you pigs get your throats cut...." Nothing much unusual in that, but the more he investigates the sender, the more it points to...Inayat Bunglawala, a leading British moderate Muslim (although one who has already been established to be a slightly immoderate moderate). Of course, maybe the unhinged hired help is using Bunglawala's personal computer after hours. Here is Charles' account of the unfolding tale. They were the rescue and salvage team that went out and brought the damaged Swift Boats back for repairs. I first heard about "a cowardly LT" in early 1969. And then again in 1971-1972 after his "Winter Soldier" embarrassment. The reaction I had the night he stood up there and saluted and "reported for duty," my reaction was intense and visceral and brought back all those old memories. John Kerry, next to Jane Fonda, was and is one of the most despised people of the Vietnam Era.

On assertions without evidence

One of the most common responses to my work that I have encountered since I have been doing it publicly is a sweeping assertion that I am ignorant, and/or maliciously ignoring the broad mainstream of peaceful Islam. Of course I do not ignore in the least the broad mainstream of peaceful Muslims, but I have repeatedly pointed out that within the various theological and legal traditions of Islam, they do not have much of a case. All the schools (madhahib) of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) teach violent jihad and Sharia supremacism, with some minor variations. Accordingly, Ibn Warraq is correct when he says that there are moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam.

This bears repeating: there are moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam.

What I have encountered again and again, however, has been the flat assertion that peaceful Islam (not just peaceful Muslims) exists and is the Islamic mainstream, and that I am dishonest or malicious for denying this. But no evidence is ever presented for the existence of this Islam, and in all the years that I have been studying Islamic texts and Islamic history, I have never found it. Again and again and again people throw up to me the assertion without evidence.

Why Kerry Is The Democrat's Nightmare

The New York Times reports that John Kerry wants to re-fight the Swift Boat debate, two years after his serial exaggerations and outright lies about his military service cost him the presidential election.  Obviously, he's not moving on, and that was the problem with his whole presidential run.

Interestingly, the Times never addresses the central Kerry fib that allowed the opposition to get a toehold on this issue.

My coverage of the Swift Boat controversy can be found in the category I created especially for it. I have not posted on this topic for eighteen months, believing that the story had been thoroughly told...

there are plenty of questions contained within the category that have never been answered. Here are just a few:

1. Why did Kerry appropriate Tedd Peck's battle record into his own record?

2. Why did Kerry allow David Alston to appear at numerous campaign events and misrepresent himself as an eyewitness to Kerry's Silver Star engagement?

3. Why did Alston disappear from the campaign after this became public, and why didn't the Kerry campaign explain his absence?

4. If Kerry came under fire on the December 2, 1968 incident for which he requested and eventually received his first Purple Heart, why then did Kerry write in his journal on December 11 that he had not yet been shot at?

The Reuters IP address that was used to send us a death threat has visited LGF 15 times today. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Reuters has not really suspended the person responsible (as they told me), but something odd’s going on here because the hits from this address are not random at all. All of them go either directly to the post about the death threat, or to one of the other LGF entries linked at the Guardian’s page with Inayat Bunglawala’s article. There are no visits from this IP address to any unrelated LGF pages.

The most recent hit was at 6:31:09 pm Pacific time, and it went directly to the death threat post.

Another "Progressive" Memorial Day Message

Ladies, gentlemen, and lizardoids, I give you one of the most infantile, stupidly reductionist examples of “progressive” logic ever posted on the internet:

Terror is an emotion.  Emotions are part of human nature and cannot be eradicated.  A “War on Terror” is therefore a war on humanity.

Why... it’s all so ... simple! War on Terror == War on Humanity! It’s obvious! How could we have been so blind?

The angry left is in full cognitive dissonance meltdown, shrieking “Don’t dare question my patriotism!” even as they piss all over Memorial Day. You don't need to take advanced logic courses to see what a stupid argument this is. More than stupid, I'd say it's desperate. The LLL are just too cowardly to admit that millions of folks around the globe would love to see their American throats cut, and have felt that way since their "religious leaders" taught them to believe that way from birth on.

Well, in one sense, since the enemy isn't terror, but Islamic extremism (that uses terror as a weapon), this, in a sense, recalls Viking the Kitten's observation that calling post 9-11 the "War on Terror" was like calling WW2 "The War on Messerschmitts".
