DRUDGE SINKS TOO ALL TIME LOW !!
drudgereport.com
Posted on 10/08/2002 1:36:39 PM PDT by unixfox
It looks like Matt Drudge has sunk to an all time low. He is now accepting advertising from the I.R.S. The I.R.S. !!!
Talk about fraternizing with the enemy. This is as low as it gets.
The ad is talking about careers at the I.R.S. at their Austin, TX indoctrination camp. I can't seem to make the ad display for some reason here but if you go to his site you might be able to see the whole message. Isn't it cute?
Stinking traitors !!!

BREAKING HARD... MUST CREDIT SLUDGE.... DRUDGE BOYCOTT BREWING!!!
To: unixfox
I would rather have IRS agents that read Drudge than Salon.com. They are going to come from somewhere, why not the more conservative side of the political spectrum.
To: unixfox
why on earth does the irs need to advertise?
To: unixfox
Who would you rather have on your next audit, a conservative that reads Drudge or a liberal that reads Salon and thinks that your money belongs to the government ?

Are you my doppler ?

Get a grip; and this certainly doesn't belong in "Breaking News."

I don't find that too upsetting. I'd rather have the people who read Drudgereport apply for IRS jobs; rather than those who read the NY Times or Washington Post.
If we have more conservatives working there we can hopefully start to make a change from within.

Right now he's running an ad for PA!!!!! PA of all places!! The Traitor!

Why would you be so mad at the IRS? Don't you pay your taxes like the rest of us?
If you do, and you want them lower as I do, you don't steam up at the IRS, but try and influence politics to lower the rates.
The IRS just oversees the law that exists.
I don't love them, but I don't despise them either, they are just doing their job.

For heaven's sake, he has no control over the ads that appear. If you don't want to see who is advertising on his site, go elsewhere.
To: unixfox
Oh, come now, isnt' that a bit paranoid? I mean, it isn't if the IRS surfs the web or lurks on FR...
I just want to say in public how much I LOVE the IRS - what a great bunch of guys and gals! Why, I can't think of anyone I'd rather have overlooking my accounts - they even gave me a cup of coffee last audit. Yes sir, I'm REALLY REALLY HAPPY with my relations with the good old IRS, yuppir...man, of all the government agencies who really are out there to serve the public, they're tops. I love you guys...uh...if you're looking at this, that is, which of course you're not...
To: unixfox
The ad is talking about careers at the I.R.S. at their Austin, TX indoctrination camp. Well, at least you avoided hyperbole.
To: A CA Guy
They have a bit of a reputation for "selective enforcement" - whatever benefits the regional manager the most is what gets enforced.

To: moron
Smart move, moron.
To: unixfox
This may not be all that you make it out to be, but I can understand the confusion. A lot of major sites use ad agencies that push rotating ads on their various sites like DoubleClick. He may or may not be aware of what ads run and when they run.

The IRS just oversees the law that exists. Problem is, they don't abide by the laws.

GEEEZ...I thought he had gotten into a flap with FR or something....
To: unixfox
You are probably not aware that Drudge probably has nothing to do with the ads on his site. Usually these are contracted by third parties, and the site where the ad appears does not have any say in who advertises. They basically say wether or not they'll accept certain ads (porn, gambling, religous) and are then given whatever pops up.
I seriously doubt there was even the option to block ads from the IRS.
To: unixfox
I went to the Drudge site and saw one ad that said
"Support President Bush" that sent me to newsmax.com. And another ad that was for
"Gordon Liddy". The horror......
To: stuck_in_new_orleans
I'm not anti-Drudge.

Wait a minute....Assuming that Matt Pays Taxes, you are complaining that he has found a novel way to get some of his tax dollars Back ?
Further, Where would you rather the IRS advertise for Help D.U.???? Think About it.
IfI had my druthers ONLY Freepers could work for the IRS. especially in superviosry capacities.
