I just watched “For The Girls” at your recommendation and it did indeed sum up the culture those women deal with. Good movie showing how a person standing up for their co-workers after being let go by a dirt-bag employer isn’t the end of the world. I believe God has a path for us if we just have faith and the courage to move forward.
I’m glad you liked it (or at least appreciated it). I keep coming back to the observation that this could have been a great for a tv series (absent so many people getting fired). The character footwork is intricate. Shayna and Lisa are open books, but Officer Delgado, Bobo, the professor and Maci are not who we think. It’s a great ensemble.
That’s, “could have been a great pilot.” And it’s not until the end that we discover that the unlikeliest character has been a jump or two ahead of everyone else the whole time. It’s no accident that Maci was the first to arrive at the beginning. I’ll bet she’s always the first to arrive. And for her, the whole job is performance art.
Strippers wear more clothes performing at Deja Vu than Twin Peaks waitresses.
