A total embargo on trade and travel would be a good start.
If that had happened in 2017, Russia would be in even better shape industrially for this war than it is is now.
There is also a lesson for the USA vis a vis China.
But NeoCons are too stupid to learn it. They are, after all, the people who want free trade and yet want eternal global wars that the de-industrialized economy can no longer support.

It didn’t happen and I wasn’t even born for another ten years. Not really going to worry about it.
