Well Julie Newnar as Cat Woman was the best looking,
Burgess Meredith as Penguin was the best villain.

I kinda liked Frank Gorshin’s over-the-top, manic Riddler.

I just watched an episode on MeTV; it comes on right after Svengoolie.

I will second the vote for Frank Gorshin’s Riddler.
With Victor Buono’s King Tut as first runner up, and George Sanders’ “Mr. Freeze” as second runner-up.

I was 16 in 1966 when this show first premiered on TV and I remember my little brother who was 13 at the time getting angry with me for laughing during the show, he didn’t realize it was high camp comedy.

Another vote for Frank Gorshin.
But Burgess Meredith was darn good as Penguin.

I was 14 when it premiered and we were so excited at school that there was going to be a Batman show! I loved it! I agree Julie Newmar was the best looking.

I heard a story about a guy at a bar, who was afraid he was going to get jumped (a girl was flirting with the guy but never told the guy she was taken, and the boyfriend was at the bar and got peeved).
The guy went to the bathroom and told his friend to keep a look out.
Sure enough, the peeved boyfriend followed the guy into the head.
Before the boyfriend could start a fight, the men’s room door swung wide open, banged against the wall, and the friend walked in smoking a cigar and yelled in his best Burgess Meriden Penguin voice, WAA WAA WAA WAA WAA.
The boyfriend quickly left the bathroom without an altercation.

Not a villain, but Batgirl. Oh my. Holy They Don't Build 'em Like They Used To Batman!
To: DallasBiff
Lee Meriwether was tops as Catwoman, then Julie Newmar.
Penguin best villain!

Crazy has its place. John Astin developed his Gomez Addams crazy eyes as a young man, walking through bad neighborhoods. If you looked crazy, people left you alone.

I had a co-worker when I worked in Manhattan relay a story about a female friend who was a ballet dancer.
Her dancer friend was taking the subway uptown after practice in her leotard, and lost track of time etc. Next thing she knows it, she’s in a bad part of Harlem.
After the doors close and as things start to look grim, her dancer friend starts screaming/singing JESUS LOVES ME!
People started avoiding her.
She kept that up until the next subway stop, where she got off and successfully took the subway back downtown/home without incident.

Dina Merrill once owned Mar-A-Lago (w/ her husband Cliff Robertson). They donated it to Palm Beach County, which later sold it to PDJT.
Julie Newmar was the obvious #1 female villain, but Dina was a close second imo.

Love Julie Newmar, but I though Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman was a better foil.
