About a year ago, I ordered something from amazon that was originally shipped from a town near, Denver, Colorado. Although I live near Seattle, Washington, after the package left the Denver area it went all the way to Birmingham, Alabama, before reversing course and heading west.

More often, I will see that a package allegedly left the same facility two or three times, went back to a facility that it had previously left, or went back to a facility after it was already said to be out for delivery.

On an unrelated note, does anyone remember when their mailman was a white male, presentable in appearance, wearing a uniform that was actually a uniform, generally friendly, and at least somewhat conscientious of doing a good job? Where I live I haven’t seen one of those in a very long time.

We moved to a veery small town in Alaska. The post office doesn’t deliver unless you have a cluster box. There isn’t enough interest to pay for one so we all have PO boxes. At first I had no idea how to get amazon to deliver to a PO box, until the two postal workers told me how to trick their system. The back area of the post office looked like an amazon shipping center. It is interesting to watch packages come up here-the routing is sometimes baffling but I understand why they do what they do (most times).

I still have one. Everything shows up when the phone says it’s supposed to, sometimes with speed that amazes me.

The package lockers people are building for rural locations are getting broken into. In this expensive zip

Ten years ago we were probably didn’t have or denied access to all the tracking we see today. Just sayin.

This just happened to me with some medicines shipped to me by Express-Scripts. Right on the highway. I actually saw the UPS truck driving off... Chased him but he got away.

I do not trust the USPS to do anything other than steal packages and transport/deliver fake ballots for the Democrat Party. I just had an electronic controller disappear and yet it was input into their computers as delivered. We have a small and very safe neighborhood. The company from which I bought the controller accused me of trying to get a free item but shipped me an other anyway.

My last problem with UPS was earlier this year I made a purchase of some ammo from a retailer in my state. It showed up a day late and the box was torn open and re-taped. when I opened the box it had only 100 rounds of the 500 I had ordered. When I called the store they were concerned and told me this was not the first time this year. They immediately sent me 400 rounds.

Seems like USPS can be radically different in different parts of the U.S.A.
Service is totally dependent on the character of the people involved.

Since COVID we have seen a sharp increase in lost/delayed packages from UPS, FedEx and GSO for our business. We our told, officially, that they still have staffing issues.

Unofficially, this is another indicator of the what I call the IDGAF trend. Employees, to a large percentage, just don’t care. There are many layers to this phenomenon.

1. Fatalism - global warming/nuclear war/asteroid strike is going to kill us all so why work hard. We have a generation who have been convinced they have no future.
2. Despair - I will never be able to afford a house. Why bring kids into the world when it is so screwed up. If god existed, he wouldn’t allow all this suffering.
3. Anger - This is all the boomer’s fault. Christian’s are haters. Republicans are racists and misogynists and keep all the money and power away from the young people.

They have been taught this. They believe this. Even if they are conservative, some part of them deep inside has absorbed this. It is reflected in their work ethic and their life decisions.

It is why crime is rampant. It is why deliveries are slow or lost. It is why you can’t get good service help. It is why stores look like flea markets. I could go on, but you know what I am talking about. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

“I have ordered stuff on Amazon in the afternoon and received it the next morning. (Not expedited)”

A few weeks ago I ordered some flea treatment for the cat from Amazon at 11:30 on a Sunday morning. I had it in my hands at 5:30 that afternoon. I know I am not supposed to like Amazon any better than Google and the rest of them, but it sure is hard to keep it up sometimes.

Yup, I walked into a post office in a lily white properous town, ALL the people behind the counter were black. Reminded me of airport security checkpoints where all the personel are black in towns that are 90% other.
