Probably not much need to shoplift, if their EBT cards are properly loaded, with YOUR tax dollars.
Keeping the invading hordes on standby, until next notice.

I just looked it up. Evidently EBT card benefits are indexed for inflation. And the bump-ups are very generous. So I guess the feds are looking at the food inflation numbers, and not at overall inflation.
I thought all the restaurants were to be Taco Bell...

Having watched the way Mexicans will “doctor up” bags of Doritos and Fritos (they open them on the vertical seem and put in lemon juice and seasoning and all kinds of stuff), it actually could be a very cool restaurant. Aside from your fine jokes.
No time like the present to prep and/or learn to grow your own.
I remember when 25 cents bought a hamburger cooked by the owner and a coke.
I also remember when $1.00 would buy 4 of the famous James Coney Island hotdogs and a 12-ounce bottle of Hires Rootbeer at the original James Coney Island in downtown Houston, and who remembers the days when you could get a nice looking hooker in her hotel room for $6.00?
“I’ve also been making our bread for almost a year now. It still blows my mind how much everything costs.”
We have been doing our own bread baking at home for about 2 and 1/2 years. Bought a bread machine turns out not to be wasted money. Can try different breads that I would not gamble $$$ on at the store in case we did not like them. Have chickens so stale bread gets eaten one way or another.
But if I have to tighten budget more can’t do it on food and will have to eliminate things that would be (collectively with other people) a clear recission indicator.
Now wait just a minute: I was classy & charged $7.00!
Crack cocaine made the price of hookers actually drop a dollar. 😂
;-)
The most important item that’s not included in the CPI is the cost of government, including all the debt taken on each year.
Hint:
Try the Walmart corn chips. I think they’re just as good as Fritos and 1/2 the price.
If there are any left on the shelf. They are often all gone while the name brand ones are still fully stocked a few shelves over.
Okay...I get most of my groceries delivered by Walmart...I’m 80...what a blessing the delivery is for me.
Maybe I live in the wrong climate to grow a Dorito plant.
That’s a shame.
Some things are tricky to grow.
;)
2018 (Trump-45) inflation was at an almost all time low. FAIL. It took off after the steal.
Shrinkflation...
Prices stayed the same...
Quantity went down...
Half gallon of orange juice was 59.5 ounces...
Half pound bags of m&m was 7 ounces..
I noticed this when Trump was president.
I just bought a case of beer the other day, I thought the price was nice, 24 bottles, got home and opened it and they were baby bottles, 10 1/2 ounces instead of 12. What a rip off.
Send a soil sample to Central Planning. (punchline to a joke about chicken farming in the USSR)
