I had read abotu the practice session early on, but as the case went on, noone seemed to bring that up anymore- Was it established that they definitely had a shooting session?
Seems to me that they did, as it would be difficult to disavow since so many of the crew were involved in it.................
I’m no fan of Alec Baldwin but he didn’t murder anyone. How does a live round of ammunition wind up loaded in a movie prop gun? Those movie set personnel in charge of those items need a closer scrutiny.
Where are you getting this? The article says nothing about murder, and intent has nothing to do with it (with the exception of the word "involuntary"). There are quite a few people in prison right now who never intended to end the life of anyone.

if they did- it introduces a whole new set of chain of action things that led up to the death- for instance, did they use the gun after she had cleared it for use on the set? After? (probably after, although someone mighta reloaded it with ammo, intending to do another shooting session at the range, after she had cleared it- not knowing that it had been cleared for use onstage, without her (the armorer’s) knowledge-)- Though i woudl think that clearing a gun for stage use woudl be done right as it is about to be used- but who knows-
If they did use it for practice at range it means more than just the armorer and alec himself were responsible- they woudl all share an extent of the blame- alec and the armorer most of all though-
As I have said before, the blame lies with every person who handled that gun that day, not just Baldwin.

the purpose of the practice though was for alec to practice the cross draw to make it look authentic, which is harder than regular draw- you would need a gun with working hammer at least- but they coulda used one without a firing pin

In this day and age, they can make realistic props, and sound effects and CGI the smoke.............
it was very risky of them to examine the gun after being specifically told by alec that he ‘didn’t fire the gun’- the gun apparently was capable of going o na rampage and firing itself according to what alec implied-
Is there a difference between “accident” and “negligent”. I think so. Because Alec didn’t personally inspect the firearm, he’s ultimately responsible to his own negligence.
She was the director. Where was the ballistic shield that was supposed to be between her and the gun?

I’m not ‘getting at anything’. I just am making an observation.But unless I make a condemnatory statement here I all of a sudden I get the attacks, ‘you didn’t hate him like us’ stuff.
I am not in the law. I don’t make the law. I’m just making the likely thought of my own that this being so traumatic to someone he likely suppressed what he did at the time.

Alec Baldwin is partially responsible as the producer but not as an actor (unless it can be proven that he intentionally loaded the gun with live ammunition).
The director (Halyna Hutchins) and the armorer were responsible for firearm safety at the filming location. This included control of the weapon by the armorer and the implementation of ballistic shields by the director.
In some states such as California, the armorer has to be licensed. Outside of that, the insurer often requires an approved armorer. Neither the state, nor the insurer would care about actors and actresses other than if they've had a previous incident.
