I have always thought TWA800 was taken down by Muslim extremists.
About a year before that tragedy I was with a group that flew from JFK to Paris on TWA800.
That flight made a stop in Paris then went on to Tel Aviv and there were quite a few orthodox Jews on board.
Could the plane have been shot down from a missile fired from the ground?
(Standing on the beach in Milford CT at that exact moment I saw a light go up, then the explosion and the wreckage come down)

The individual may have been a courier and not someone important.
It also might have been the wrong plane shot down.
Then too, why hasn't anyone or group come forward and claim they did it?

Was the fuel leaking out the bottom of the fuselage, or getting inside the wing(s) from the fuselage?
If it was leaking from the belly of the fuselage on take off, it would seem to me that with the throttles wide open, the heat to light the fuel should have been adequate before reaching rotation.
Wyoming is an Ohio class SSBN. She was placed in commission just 4 days before the flight 800 accident. The only way she could shoot down an airplane is with a Trident ICBM. She may not have even been loaded with weapons at the time she was on trials.

The eyewitness testimony of seeing a missile hit the plane is solid. And there is plenty of other anecdotal evidence, like this comment on another article:

He confirmed in no uncertain terms that the investigative team identified the exact impact area of the 747 lower skin and the metal was bent inwards which resulted from hard contact by a missile.. The article is indefinite on which US Navy ship fired the missile, but suggests it may have been the cruiser Leyte Gulf.
That plane was shot down. It’s not so much that it wasn’t, because IT WAS SHOT DOWN.

I talked to two commercial airline pilots in the area witnessing a rocket, missile going up from the bay striking the aircraft, they filed reports and the FBI never contacted them.
It was NOT a fuel tank explosion, there are plenty of eyewitnesses describing a missile. Many of those I know in the aviation field know it was a cover up.

Knowing what we NOW know about our corrupt FBI, a coverup is a no brainer. I followed that incident very closely, and being in the aviation field I knew it was a coverup, FBI, NTSB, FAA all told what to say.

A photograph doesn’t show movement. I only shows something frozen in time. A photograph can show a streak ‘ascending’.

No, the stinger warhead is about the size of a handgrenade which means it isn’t going to blow the nose off a 747.
The have fitted most airliners with a nitrogen generation system that replaces the oxygen in the fuel tanks as the fuel is burned.

My question isn’t if it was shot down, the eyewitness and radar track seem to show that. My question is why people think it was an accident, and not ordered.

Bullsh*t. The plane was shot down, and the NTSB, along with other government lackeys, were *ORDERED* to make up this phony baloney story to cover up the fact that the plane was shot down by Iranians in retaliation for the shootdown of the Iran Air Flight 655 by the USS Vincennes.
