Off South third here! Yep, feels humid too!
#10 You want to use the bear spray on your hiking buddy as grizzles like pepper on their meals....
Question: will this bear be euthanized now that it’s killed a human?
Man, people need to be more situationally aware.
It is legal to fire a firearm in self defense in Yellowstone Park. What constitutes self defense may vary from state to state, but several cases of killing bears with firearms in National Parks have been held to be justified, as well as cases where "warning shots" were used. From nps.gov:
If a firearm is used in self-defense against a bear, contact park authorities immediately. Federal regulations prohibit the use or discharge of any weapon within a park area. The applicability of a state statute pertaining to self-defense in a wildlife encounter may vary state to state and by park area and will generally take into account any provoking or negligent actions by the person.
In my experience, the NPS likes to have a monopoly on guns in National Parks. They try to make self-defense in a park, with firearms, sound bad.
Sure. The Park Rangers (PR) are mostly Fucikers (he was a composer).
To drive to West Yellowstone from my home I have to drive through 7+/- miles of the park - different speed limit, et al.
The PR are really pricks.
