Have a co-worker originally from Cambodia, whose birth name is Kunvichet, and he goes by Chet.
Years ago Air New Zealand had sightseeing flights over Antarctica. I really wanted to do it and was making plans to book one when I read about the crash. Everyone on board killed. That was the last flight.
Jane Dornacker is another one.
Richie Valens, the Big Bopper, Bill Hailey, Lynard Skynard members, Rickie Nelson are other ones I can think of
Yes the those you named were plane crash victims but I’m not sure any of those were the controlled flight into terrain phenomenon like the one in this story.
Not many air molecules up high for any chopper.
Remember the ‘Far side” where the 2 pilots are looking out the windshield of the plane at the parting clouds and a mountain goat standing right there....
Hover ceiling OGE: 12,600 ft (EASA certification Q1 2021) Hover ceiling IGE: 13,250 ft

“That phenomenon has taken quite a few entertainers over the years.....Patsy Cline and Stevie Ray Vaughn come to mind.”
I remember seeing the report about Patsy Cline on TV in Nashville when it happened, I was 13. Big news.
Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and other acquaintances. I am sorry I don’t remember their names. Foggy weather with a non IFR certified pilot. Over southern California.
Umm, sorry it’s not a phenomenon. Controlled flight into terrain is fook’n pilot error.
Formerly the AS350 Ecureuil. Decent ‘copter, except it’s one of the few skid-type ‘copters that can experience ground resonance. Shakes itself to pieces and there’s nothing you can do but hold on until the ride ends.
