“The Coast Guard said it had created a marine board of investigation (MBI), its highest level of probe.”

Waste of money. As was the “rescue effort”.

James Cameron said the submersible was only a few thousand feet down when it imploded.

Why risk more lives bringing it up? Everyone knows it was a result of narcissism.

The seem to suggest perhaps a Viewport failure rather than an implosion, in my wild speculation. The cover seemed largely intact and not bent as I would expect in an implosion.

The huge chunks of metal were unloaded from the Horizon Arctic ship at the Canadian Coast Guard pier in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada, this morning

Several large pieces of the vessel have been recovered from the ocean, but other sections are believed to have been decimated by the implosion

I don’t know that.

And I’m certainly not taking the word of the serial liars running the so-called investigation for anything.

It was recovered by ROVs, not manned vehicles.

The owner of this company should get an El Dope-o award supreme. I’m sorry that he was able to dupe people into paying for their deaths. I’m glad it was fast for the participants.

No part of the carbon fiber hull is shown, event attached to the other wreckage, which suggests just about the whole thing shattered instantaneously.

They should have left enough debris for tourism

No more amateur deep diving expeditions.
What else could they conclude?

Really? There was an implosion? All 5 died. Thanks DM. I haven’t read that more than 367 times so far.

cyclic loading of connections between carbon fiber and other materials is my poison of choice. Unlike the aluminum of the Dehaviland Comet, carbon fiber gives way all at once - a fact known by many white 50 year old with experience military in carbon fiber marine construction
