I doubt he would do it, but Camilla’s son who hates Charles and Camilla might.

King after William maybe?

When was the last time an illegitimate child succeeded to the throne in England?

Camilla was a commoner whom Charles fell in love with. Never gonna happen for QEII.

QE II might have been amenable, but the Queen Mother was a hard “no”. The aftermath of the marriage with Diana likely changed QE II’s stance for the future.

Out of wedlock / Bar sinister not sure of the line of descent in these circumstances, but not certain he could even with Camilla’s elevation to Queen.

I am not that into Brit royals so research yourself and do not rely on my statement.

In Charles II’s day, and at other times, illegitimate children became Dukes and got massive estates. It’s hard to believe that kings had all that land to give away. I guess they got it from various rebels.

By the time of William IV, illegitimate offspring didn’t get honors or inheritances as big as that — he had too many of them — but did get a good start in their careers. Victorianism, the press, and parliamentary control of finances killed off all that.

There’s always a first time. And in this age of celebrating perversity, anything is possible.

Hmmm, I guess you’re right. Camilla’s father was a Major before he became Vice Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, and one of his duties was looking after the Royal Family when they visited in his area.

It has been said that her father didn’t like Charles much, and was angry with him for ruining his daughter’s life.

So maybe he actually did get her pregnant and she gave the baby up for adoption. Maybe that was the rift at the beginning.

I do think you’re right, it was the Queen Mother who was so staunch. I had forgotten about her.

Remember the guy who said he was Bill Clinton’s child? Wonder if this prince knows that one?

Bastards are a staple of British monarchy. William the Conqueror was a bastard. King Henry I (an overachiever if there ever was one) had 24 illegitimate children.

What is not a staple of the British monarchy is to be divorced and married to a second wife before ascending to the throne.

In fact the “scepter’d isle” has been having kings (and queens” take the throne for more than 1100 years, and out of all those serial adulterers, misogynists, miscreants, and murderers, Chuck is the first (and only) to have been divorced (much less remarried) at the time of his coronation.

MONEY and PRESTIGE?

There have to be less unsavory ways to get money - claiming Charles and his wife as parents seem right down there with marrying a senile 90 year old for money.

I cannot figure out why any American would be a royal watcher. After all, we overthrew Kink George III and kept the Brits from reinstalling him a few decades later.

The entire British royal family has been super nasty since at least King Henry VIII began chopping heads off people he did not like including some of his wives.

The problem I have with Camillus giving birth to a b@st@rd son of Chucky is that I believe the story that Camilla IS really Camillus. Contrary to what Democ-Rats want us to believe men cannot give birth.
