I thought you said your uranium was depleted?

It’s not my uranium.

“..the British should know better...”

it was British ammunition sent to Zelensky and contained “depleted uranium.” - also said to be worth $500 million or more.

I love it when uninformed people chime in on things they do not understand. You have the whole Internet to search and find out what depleted uranium is and how dangerous it is.

The “depleted” in “depleted Uranium” means that it is natural uranium that has been processed to remove the fissionable U-235 isotope leaving a larger fraction of U-238 than occurs in nature. U-238 does not fission, but it still decays and releases alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. Most of the energy of decay is from alpha particles, so it is particularly dangerous when vaporized and dispersed in an explosion.

Perhaps we should have Iraqi tank crews explain about DU, as they were the recipients of DU ammo fired by the USAF warthog fighter bombers during the Gulf war.

True... but completely aside from the radiation danger from refined uranium, the substance itself is classified as toxic. Not good to breath in unless lung cancer or renal failure is your hobby...

Do not expect good science from modern journalism...

There is a big difference between radiation from the sun and radiation from a particle that keeps putting out radiation endlessly.

“Endlessly?” Now who’s the scientific illiterate?

Jackson "Maga Communist" Hinkle? I'm not surprised I had to click the link to find his name. He's an outrage baiter and online bomb thrower. The more outrageous, the better for his clicks and hits.

From my rebuttal: https://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/4153219/posts?page=44#44:

...Let's go to the European Commission Radioactivity Environmental Monitoring web page, then go to the advanced map to look at the trend for station UA33429 in Khmelnytskyi (Хмельни́цький).

The spike in Nanosieverts per hour (nSv/h) happened on March 11, linear or logarithmic scale, and dropped on the morning of March 13, the day of the attack, and rose again. The rise before the attack could not have been caused by the attack. Because natural variation in background radiation is natural variation. Comparing Gateway's graph to the EC site data, Gateway's graph does not match the highs and lows on the EC data. Gateway's graph doesn't show that, because Gateway copied it off Twitter and Telegram, where it was made up.

The UK announced delivering DU rounds to Ukraine. Khmelnytskyi had a large explosion, when Khmelnytskyi was already having a spike in background gamma radiation. The Russian online troll response, make up data to show the radiation spike occurred after the strike, attribute it to a real world source, say the explosion and radiation spike must be connect to the delivery of DU rounds, treating speculation as proof.

Start it out on Telegram, spread it to Twitter. Let a gullible audience in the west spread and accept it at face value. Next.

Hinkle is taking the Russian narrative, then saying it was a nuclear explosion when he knows depleted uranium is not going to go nuclear to drive up his clicks. He is covering this late, with a more extreme take, to get in the last word. Similar to Mitt Romney and just as annoying.

That was a gasoline or fuel explosion, not a nuclear device. If it was a nuclear weapon the EMP would have fried the camera's electronics and the heat would have incinerated the camera and the operator.

Russia has used DU rounds in its tanks from the start, a fact Russia Shill Inc. (™) will not bring up.

I know, sometimes trying to get hysterical is fun.

Depleted uranium is a radioactive material that has had most of its highly radioactive isotopes removed, so it emits less radiation than natural uranium.

However, depleted uranium still emits radiation, primarily in the form of alpha particles, which are relatively low-energy and cannot penetrate even a thin layer of skin. The amount of radiation emitted by depleted uranium depends on its purity and the amount of uranium present.

In general, the radiation emitted by depleted uranium is not considered to be a significant health hazard unless it is ingested or inhaled in large quantities. In those cases, the alpha particles could damage nearby tissues and potentially increase the risk of cancer or other health problems. It is important to handle depleted uranium with appropriate precautions, such as wearing protective clothing and using ventilation to prevent inhalation of any dust particles that may contain depleted uranium.

In this case, a large explosion disperses dust into the atmosphere where it is inhaled.

American GIs were hit with DU also and some still carry it in their bodies.

It’s a bad idea to breath in most metals.

If an ammo dump goes up the lead and the copper will cause 1000x the health problems of the depleted uranium.
