I’ve heard of that nuke/croc symbiosis too. Proof that human activity is not always detrimental to wildlife.
It’s like Brown Bears and Caribou hanging out around the pipeline on the North Slope of Alaska. Animals like warmth. Only liberals think freezing in the dark is a good thing.
They used to sell stuffed Am. Crocodiles in FL. Bought one on vacation there when I was 10. Well, my parents bought it. Those could have originated from outside FL though I don’t know.
“Isn’t there some sort of award for that?”
If there isn’t, there should be.
I’m originally from FL. The crocodiles mainly live in the southern end of the state near Miami. They hang out in the area around the Turkey Creek nuclear plant t where the water stays warm in the winter.
When I was a kid there was a total ban on killing gators because their numbers had shrunk but after 30 years or so of the ban they ballooned into the nuisance range where they are today. I’m sure people poach them all the time.
What is the problem? Choice of weapons? How ridiculous.
Turkey point has a full time biologist to track and care for the crocodiles located in the 68 miles of cooling canals.
They’ve been spotted in Key Biscayne, all throughout the 10,000 islands, the Everglades, and in Ft. Myers.
"Harvesting" indicates intent to use as a food source. Are they supposed to starve?
One vermin or another vermin, what's the difference? They fill the same ecological niche and if they get big enough, either will eat your @$$.
Next up, the anonymous caller.

Well, some times you just gotta eat.
I’d wager the anonymous caller was a Democrat.

I’d sooner take my chances with crocodilians than a lot of Floridans.
