Personally, I think the safest place is a family with married mom and dad, married grandparents, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Centuries before there was an EPA or Corporate, or political interests, mankind was smart enough to know that if birds and fish and foxes and dogs were getting sick and dying, that it was TIME TO LEAVE THE AREA!
“Un-American” is yet another term the Left is trying to twist for their own ends. America was built on the nuclear family, as was virtually every successful civilization in history.

Actually, the nuclear family as a standalone dates from the 1950’s, and it is what gave us the hippies and other chaos because it is unstable in the absence of the extended family. The extended family is the foundation of civilization.
SD Legislature appears to have a 3 month session, so it probably goes back to its day job for most of the year. Still ... plenty of time for graft and corruption.

No, not really ... regardless of how extend an “extended” family may be, the fundamental unit of it as a family is “A man married to a woman and the children who issue from their union”. This is what our lovely part time legislator is railing against.

Marriages fare far better when they are supported by married grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. The idea that you could take a young couple of child-bearing years, and then saddle them with all that work with no support is a product of the nuclear/modern age, and as an experiment it failed spectacularly. We need to go back to the pre-nuclear age model.
On Monday, February 13, 2023, the Christian, conservative organization "The Family Heritage Alliance" issued a public statement that "The safest place for kids is in families that have a married mom and dad."
Democrat State Representative Erin Healy responded to that statement later that day in the following Twitter posting: "Extremist group Family Heritage Alliance said this morning that the safest place for kids are in families that have a married mom and dad. What a dangerous and un-American belief."
The clue is in the name, it was in the nuclear age that the powers that be decided to get rid of mothers-in-law and the rest of the family in order to make people more mobile. We need to go back.

I don’t think blackadderess’ view is at all delusional. I agree that the fundamental nuclear family unit is of course, “Man+Woman+Children”, but we should encourage more than that.
