Same here, even though fewer girls than boys are diagnosed.

Adderall being basically the same as Meth is like saying humans are basically the same as gorillas.

I know a number of people take Adderall. Many of them are very successful, professionally, family relationships, and financially. Know one guy who makes close to $800k per year.

There are some people with ADHD that have co-morbidities. Those individuals have very serious problems. Without co-morbidities, ADD can have some significant advantages.

Read the article. They are the ones showing the comparison. The doctors and other scientists there are the ones discussing it.

Read it. Don’t just impulsively trigger and get offended. Its a scientific comparison, not some op ed by a journalist.

I think there are a lot of adults who don’t have ADHD and are taking it to study or to work longer hours.

We know enough about the genetics of ADHD to tell who is likely to develop it. There are too many people taking medications for reasons beside ADHD that it creates problems for people who really do have it.

BTW, one of my friends had a boy who had bad ADHD, when he was off his meds he was just all over the place and couldn’t sit still. Then out of curiosity she took one of his pills. She said the whole day she was a nervous wreck and felt like she was going to jump out of her skin.

China still manufactures more than 90% of all base drugs. If you don’t have the base Drug one can’t manufacture the end products.

“Teva has also been affected by supply-side challenges. The company has reported backorders for its amphetamine mixed salts, which is the main ingredient in Adderall. It is also experiencing intermittent manufacturing delays, which have caused supply-chain disruptions.”

I read the link. Basically the guy said they similar. They are not. The author was just trying make himself seem like an expert. He’s not.

On very obvious indication is that he says Adderall is a schedule 2 drug. It’s not, it’s a schedule 5 drug. A drug like Ambien is a schedule 2 drug. If doesn’t know something so obvious as that, you can’t trust anything else he has to say.

I don’t know anyone who takes Adderall who abuses it. Not saying it doesn’t happen in rare cases. I used to be able to get a 90 day supply from a civilian pharmacy. I now get it from the VA and they only give out 30 day prescriptions. So when it’s time for a refill, I just send a secure message to the VA doctor and it shows up at my house in 3-4 days. I met with this VA doctor once, the first time gave me the prescription. Haven’t seen him since.

The brains of people with ADD are just different. Taking ADD medication when you don’t have it is a huge mistake. At least this mother was convinced it does make a huge difference for her son.

It doesn’t take any time to figure out if you really do have ADD/ADHD.

Wiki also lists adderall as a class 2 drug in the usa.

And as of 2018, the usa controlled substance act, and the dea also list adderall as a class 2 substance.

I stand corrected. I got my number scale reversed. I re-read the article. The author was very clear in stating Adderall and Meth are not the same.

I agree. The article clearly shows they are undeniably similar. They are not the same. I didn’t say they were the same.

Usually too late to start spanking, after you’ve been drugging-up your kid for years. So I guess those parents are stuck.

Perhaps now it would be a good time for them to ‘reflect’ a bit on their earlier child-rearing decisions.

cut out fast food

I don't remember eating fast food for years.   Wow!   Maybe that is a Covid-19 vector that I unintentionally avoided.

Yes the medication does not work the same with people who don’t have ADHD.

On those that do it calms them down.

One time I was with said friend and her son had forgotten he had already taken his medication; he took two instead of one.

He was completely zoned out in the back seat of the car.

There is a difference between ADD and ADHD despite what some medical professionals claim.

Adderall helps me to focus better. I’ve never had an issue with being hyperactive.

My kids’ first babysitter had ADD, it’s more common in girls. She certainly wasn’t hyper.

Some people say ADD and ADHD don’t exist. But they certainly do, one of my kids has ADHD and really needs medication.
