Hopefully they will preface the new name with the proper, “People’s Republic of...”

I hope they enjoy the name of their new “country” that is a colony of China. They may have to learn Chinese to be able to pronounce it.

New Shanghai or New Beijing. Strategic location in the Pacific Ocean. Agriculture exports back to China. New Zealand isn't defended by the U.S. fleet.

70k signatures is about how many people speak the Maori language.

I suspect it's mostly white liberals signing it. Most Maoris are probably thinking "WTF?"
