Have you ever seen yours hunt moles by listening for them? Funniest thing is to watch mine sitting and cocking her ears in a radar sweep then locking onto the target and pouncing.

Aim for between the eyes. They charge when wounded.

Forget moles. How do you keep armadillos from digging down to your foundation. I dislike the possums on a half shell.

I had gophers and a few moles.
The Jack Russel did more damage than the gophers and the cat couldn’t keep up.
I bought a pitchfork to stab the lawn in about a 3 foot by 3 foot pattern.
Worked great, and the lawn loved it.
Don’t depend on a bloodhound. They just want to be BFFs.

Are you sure you want to kill your free yard aerators? Just think of them as mutant earthworms. Snakes who like to borrow burrows will find them eventually. That must be what happens in my yard. I’ll notice the mounds for a time, and then they disappear for a while.

A boston terrier that hates little critters. There are major yard side affects though.

My boston did the same. It was my yard though.

I do my father’s old school trick for gophers and moles:

Find a hole and shove a lit highway flare into it. Then kill the little b-tards as they come out.

LOL. I am building a cat house in the carport. I had a Colonel who once told me if I did not straighten out my only future would be a janitor at a cat house. He was right. One stray, who was badly abused, will sit with me while I work on my truck. She talks to me while I am working. Relationship started when shared some ice cream with her😀. She is an avid hunter, probably had to be when her previous owners abused her. She has been keeping my backyard free of critters, even my dogs like her.

“So drivers are handlers and gardeners are moles...”

And, as our government learned, probably in the 1980s, janitors are just as good at stealing classified data from garbage cans as James Bond types.

I practice bagpipes.... And when I get tired of that... I start yodeling.

My dogs dispatch a fair amount of them. I also have a nest of hawks, ospreys, and 3 big owls that help too. As for dispatching them it’s tough on my large property. It is easier to just control the spots you don’t want them and let the natural predators take care of them.
