I do the same. Toasted leftover hamburger or hot dog buns are just fine for me with my morning eggs. Even if you don’t have a toaster oven, they fit in the toaster slot too - since most made in the last 20 years are wide enough to handle a sliced bagel.
It’s amazing that bread in a slightly different shape can puzzle so many people.
Hub gets tuna salad on leftover buns. Or they get Turkey/ham on them. We use 2 most of the time. On the 4th we get Hamburgers, corn, chips, and 1 beer each. I got some of those 4 to the pack-marked-down burger buns, the other 2 will go with the rest of the pork roast I made Saturday when I shred the pork and use BBQ sauce.
Absolutely use them for sandwiches. Years ago I used to keep a paper bag and put in old bread to dry out. Then would either spice it up and going into bread crumbs to store and use or would make bread pudding.r
