Soviet men do not live very long. All that vodka. Medical care is crap. Nutrition is scarce as well. Most recent Soviet leaders made it to their 70s, except for Gorbachev who is still alive at 91. So if Putin kicks the bucket, it is typical of what is expected of his life expectancy due to his birth in the Soviet Union.

Patrushev needs a guarantee from the elites and the oligarchs before they announce that Putin has a cold. And Patrushev is probably not going to get that guarantee so the power struggle to replace Putin will be Soviet ugly.

Putin’s life expectancy increased by 4 years the minute McDonalds stopped serving food in Russia.
I think Soviet and Russian leadership receives top drawer medical care. There were rumors that Brezhnev received heart surgery in the United States or Germany. Putin may be seriously ill, but if he dies, it won’t be because of substandard health care.
