When I first heard the rumblings of a weird virus in China, I started reading here and other places. We have long used zinc in our household against winter viruses and Vitamin D3 and light against winter depression. It was a small step to add some more supplements, and I laid in a good supply for me and hubs. I did my best with our adult sons and extended family. We followed the science - as practiced by outspoken clinicians like Dr Zelenko, Dr Malone, and doctors at Eastern Virginia Medical school, who risked their reputations to save lives. Hubs and I both took reasonable precautions without going paranoid in the early days of the virus. We both caught it before shots were available (Feb-March of 2020 and 2021). Having developed natural immunity, which hasn't failed us in our entire lives, we didn't feel the need of shots. We didn't trust the speed and lack of transparency of what was transpiring, let alone the actors who were pushing shots.
Being retired, we didn't have workplace mandates, but we have missed out on some activities and have been shunned by some groups. That's life. My mother is nearly 97 and she didn't trust them either. She's recovering from what is probably an omicron variant - tired but fine, and now with enhanced natural immunity. We are independent thinkers by nature and don't trust 'consensus', as it seldom exists in any community. My family experienced the oppression of life under the communists in Eastern Europe, and my parents fled to start over again. I think I'm immunized for life against group think, pushy bureaucrats and virtue-signaling neighbors. Our older son took two mandated shots, but having worked the pandemic in an ER as a tech, he has worked things out pretty well and declared it all BS. We're still waiting on his brother, who is under the sway of academia and his liberal friends.
Right-because it's another of those words that's twisted round and round so that it loses all meaning ...except for the people who fabricate data to control the discussion.
I haven’t believed anything out of the US government in 20+ years, they have lied so much I automatically assume anything they say is a lie or half truth.
They told us 2 weeks of lockdowns only-lie
They said don’t wear a mask they won’t help you-truth.
They said you must wear a mask or you’ll die-lie Pre-covid if you said a mask would stop a virus you were considered a kook.
They said social distancing of 6ft worked, WTH! Bald face lie.
They said put up plexiglass and it will stop or slow spread in buildings with circulating heating and air systems-lie.
They said covid is far more dangerous than the flu, yet it’s survival rate is that of the flu-lie.
They said MRNA vaccines were tested and safe—BIG LIE.
They said the jab would stop you from getting covid-lie
The jab would stop you from spreading covid-lie.
The jab would keep you from dying-lie.
They said jab side-effects were not happening—big lie!
They said jab side-effects were then minor things and that myocarditis was a mild side effect, really!
These vaccines were tested and safe and effective-BIG LIE!
They started testing in the late summer/early fall 2020 and rolled out the jab in December 20. There is NO WAY ON THIS EARTH they had evidence it worked or was safe—LIE OFF THE CHARTS!
My co-worker volunteered to be a guinea pig for the covid jab in the summer/fall of 2020. She took the two shots, no effect whatsoever. They didn’t tell her placebo or jab so come January 2021 she sees the jabs coming out and needs to know if she received the placebo or jab and calls her contact and they say you had the vaccine. She goes to her doctor for checkup and she orders a covid antibody test in January and finds no antibodies. My friend contacts her drug company trial contact and they again confirm she had the actual vaccines. So within less than three months—no antibodies from the vaccine so she takes another round of the jabs. They are worthless.
If it comes from a US government agency it’s a lie more than likely. If it comes from the MSM lie. Sadly if it comes from the former profession, now a bunch of gutless hucksters known as the medical community, count on it being a lie.
If someone starts the conversation by saying “I follow the science” it’s a lie or they are stuck in a death cult and actually believe they are smarter than you and everyone else because their god science would never lie to them.
Not to mention that the covid tests are highly untrustworthy.
They can’t tell the difference between covid and the flu. And certainly can’t tell the difference between variants!
Like Reagan said, “ The 9 scariest words in the English language are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.””
I distinctly remember waking up one morning about a year and a half ago and the first thought was I can never again believe anything my government or the media tells me without verifying it myself.
It was a sad moment.

I agree. Unfortunately, just like the Boy Who Cried Wolf, it won’t be long before NO ONE will trust the government the next time a REAL global pandemic occurs and is working on its way here. What complexes the issue even more is needing to wait a long time to determine the seriousness of the pandemic.
