It’s a long story, but I found myself by accident on that golf-cart track on the cliffs around the north end of Maui in an open Jeep. I had no idea about that road and thought I was going to die at every turn. I was gripped by a dread that this wasn’t going to turn out well. Then, a version of “Over the Rainbow” by Eva Cassidy came on the radio, and, although the road got even worse, the song helped.
