They are worried about transgender rights and shutting down nuclear and coal, in favor of butterflies powering windmills. They fear their countries will be under water from global warming.
They have all the time and money in the world to chase after sheer stupidity as a “noble” value, and to castigate Trump, conservatives, and Christians, yet they run, begging for serious intervention, when their stupidity brings the chaos it was assured to bring.
Ukraine seem to think a 30 year old agreement protected them from taunting Russia, and they firmed up US protection by paying Hunter Biden and a former Romney aide, among other US citizens
I am not pro-Putin, but I am also not pro-Biden or pro-US direct involvement, either.
Stupidity, and crime, should hurt.
Sanctions are like shooting yourself in the knee to protest the school bully.
Politicians love them because they sound good—but they have a long track record of failure over decades and decades and decades.

War is like shooting yourself, or your children, in the head.
I take it you prefer that over your own foot?
Biden is on Putin’s payroll.
Sanctions are also to really get your enemy to become intransigent and to start wars.
Just ask the Japanese prior to WWII how US sanctions worked.
They finally got sick and tired of them and attacked Pearl Harbor.
Sanctions are just dumb—and a million words can’t make them wise.
The timing of this is suspicious, as if Biden needed something to cover for his failures.
Just as they needed something to take out Trump in the election year....enter COVID from China.
[If Ukrainian blockheads can be “flipped” that easily, from NATO/EU/USA to a Russian ally.
Why do you care so much?
What are your intentions & motivations for this Eastern European stupidity?]
The Russians have a very simple way of doing guerrilla pacification:

If we’re going to start questioning motivations, I could equally question yours. But I won’t. The fact is that neutrality doesn’t work. Switzerland and Sweden were allied with Germany with all kinds of cozy secret deals. They avoided Allied bombs by not making it explicit. If there were any justice in this world, they would have been bombed to rubble during the war.
And why do you think our borders are so wide open? It ain't because we're great humanitarians.
“I’d say sanctions are a reasonable way to “confront.”
Great,
Lets give public sector autocratic control freaks more power to destroy the agricultural, industrial, and financial sectors of the United States.
Virus Mania+ Eastern European Warfare, supply chain problems, and labor supply issues, will all be solved by “robots & magic.”(Sarcasm)
The proper position for US foreign policy is to let Russia & Ukraine finish their war, then cut a deal with “both sides.”
We have never enslaved a single Eastern European country, nor have we ever used them as cannon fodder.
But I’d like to address the fallacy of all these “what about when America does the same thing” posts.
Let’s take WW2 as an example. We did many things the Japanese did, attack countries and islands, bomb (even fire bomb) cities, sink navies. We even nuked two cities.
But see I’m on THIS side so I’m actually glad we defeated the Japanese. We did not lay down and scream “Please kill me for I have sinned”.
Saying “America did the same things” when our enemy attacks, is probably the most unpatriotic un American thing imaginable.
Id ask what your point is but obviously there is none.
Letting people work or mooch here illegally is not analogous to attacking and enslaving them or their country.
That would be if we conquered Mexico to use its army to support us in a war against Russia. We don’t do that.
[Very well said. The Soviet model is to use Eastern Europeans as slave labor and cannon fodder.]

At every stage in his campaigns, his armies incorporated the people from the defeated kingdoms. It got to the point that he killed one of his closest aides, Cleitus, who was incensed over his use of Persian recruits.
The Brits conquered the Indian kingdoms, then incorporated their manpower into their armies. While 90%, the UK’s WWI casualties consisted of Brits, almost 10% were Indians.
Similarly, Genghis Khan’s armies incorporated a real polyglot mix of conquered peoples. In his vision, all men under Tengri would be Mongol. And his troops increasingly incorporated non-Mongols as his original force from Mongolia proper was whittled down through death, injury or old age. It got to the point that one of the alleged distant offshoots of his invading armies, Boris Godunov, became the Tsar of Russia.
Do you believe Japan invaded China because China wouldn’t trade? That England started the Revolutionary War over that? That WW I or WW II was over that? That the Vietnam or Korean War was over that? That the Mexico-American War was over that? That the Cold War was over that? That the Civil War was over that?
It is daft to believe sanctions are responsible for wars. There are numerous reasons behind wars, and sanctions as a cause ranks near the bottom.
