The replacement for that Atlas V, using American made (Blue Origin) engines, is supposed to have its maiden flight later this year.
Maybe the Russians on the space station get deported out the door or to their capsule?

After the Cold War we were shocked to discover just how much better Soviet rocket engines were than ours. We were eager to buy them and used them for a lot of launches.
As with most things Russians they have not improved them over the last 30 years. Today SpaceX, Arianespace and other western rockets are much more advanced.
Didn’t John McCain say they were only 3rd world drunks who ran a giant gas-station?
so they produce rocket motors the USA needs. Who knew?

I think its more the fault of our greedy and short sighted politicians, and ultimately the voters themselves for keeping them in office.
Regardless of the economics, some critical products should be produced here at home.
So Roscosmos is saying “We won’t be selling you any more of these engines that you have already decided not to buy”?
AMEN!!! This was always beyond insane. We have home grown rocket engines.

After the USSR broke up we should have reached out our hands in friendship - - like we did with Germany and Japan after World War II. Big mistake on our part - Russia's one of the few countries in the world our technological equal...
My first thought too. I am close enough to a SpaceX location to hear the rumble of rocket engines being tested on occasion.
I guess we’ll be hearing more of that.

Sounds like a great opportunity for somebody in America to start employing all of those AMERICAN STEM kids.....Now if we can just get the diversity folks and government off their backs.
